Konad Lace Tips - Tutorial

Posted by Unknown on Monday, April 4, 2011

I did an entire mani of the lace tips but this time I went ahead and used the most common "lace" technique of layering two separate image stamps. I made sure to take pics step by step, so here goes a tutorial.

Paint the entire nail one solid color. (i used sally hansen iced coffee)

Tape off the tips (i used scotch tape on a diagonal), and paint whatever color you want to show underneath the lace (i used zoya - jules). Remove tape.

Tape off the tips again (i didn't want to let the jules dry with the tape still on, in case it would all pull up together). Stamp with floral image (i used konad m71 & special black polish).

Stamp using fishnet or honeycomb image (i used konad m57 & same special black polish)

Remove tape

Add black line along edge of "lace" with striping brush (i used kiss nail art striper in black)

 Topcoat & Ta Dah!

I was able to stamp two nail tips with one image pick up. You have to be quick, but stamp the image & spin the stamper around in your hand and use the other half of the image to stamp your second nail.

I'd love to hear any feedback from you guys!

(Thanks guys! The response from "hunting giraffes" was very encouraging! I will get to work on doing an entire mani and I'll work up a tutorial of that look!)
