before i was good at nail art: from the vault part 1

Before I start this post I want to talk a little about my Head and Shoulders hair stripping attempt, because I got a lot of questions about it.
It did take a good bit of the color out of my hair. But not enough, and my red did not come out the way it should have. (It should be fire engine but instead it is more like a very deep auburn.)
I put it on wet hair, lathered it, and left it on for 20 minutes.
It did remove a lot of the color. If you are looking to lighten/fade your color, this could be a good thing to try. (Obviously only on dyed hair.)
But if you need to lighten more than 2 or 3 shades, you're going to want to see a professional.
(And I am going to see a professional, my friend Kathryn, to fix it. Hi Kathryn!)

Anyway.
I have a semi-hilarious post for you today.

I decided it would be funny do a mega post of the crappy/occasionally good designs I did when I was just getting the hang of nail art.
So I got all the pictures ready, watermarked them even though I'm sure I didn't need to because no one will want to steal them, and here they are for you!
(I watermarked these ages ago with my old watermark - I've been saving this post for sometime when I really had nothing else to post. Haha.)

Without further ado, here are 13 pictures from my early adventures in nail art.

You will also notice that I had a hard time finding good angles for pictures!
The above design was based off a picture I had seen - the base color is China Glaze Recycle.
I pretty much blew my own mind with this when I did it. Haha!

Experimenting with tape. The lightning bolts are actually made of electrical tape.
Base color is Claire's Tahiti Purple.

My first adventure in watermarbling.
I don't remember the colors except for the dark purple which is Icing Purple PJ's.

Second adventure in marbling. The thumb turned out really cool but I took a big gouge out of it with the toothpick as I was cleaning the water.

Another recreation of something I had seen online. Blew myself away with this one too.
This design was the reason I bought China Glaze Recycle.

Glitter bomb.

Little bit of everything. I had just gotten Art Deco black.

Half moon mani! This is actually really cute. I might have to do this again.
I got the inspiration for this one from a magazine I read at a doctor's office, and I took a picture of it with my cellphone so I wouldn't forget.

Again, copied from something online.
This was probably the first thing I really did well, but the polishes sucked and the rhinestones would not stay on.

And then I bought my first set of plates on ebay.
And I thought I was the master of nail art.
Base color is Icing - Mint 2 Be.

And then came Bundle Monster. I think that one has potential too. Mint 2 Be again, stamping is Insta-Dri Mint Sprint.

Sally Hansen HD in Spectrum. Zebra print was like the holy grail of my nail art. I was soooo impressed.

Look at the shape of my nails! Haha! Wow.
This design has potential but boy, did I execute it poorly.
