Me and some of my Facebook friends have decided to do it together for the month of September.
I'm not sure where this came from originally, but I am excited about it!
I know the first few days are a little boring, but once we get to Day 9, the fun begins and I will have some form of nail art for the next 3 weeks! (Wait... Am I crazy? I don't think I realized just how much work this is going to be!)
And of course, if I get something interesting or need to show you guys something, I'll make a second post that day. (As a matter of fact, I'm going to be doing a second post today with my August haul!)
Sound good? Here we go!
Day 1 is Red Nails.
I want to use polishes I haven't shown you before for the first week of this challenge, so today I'm showing you one of my recent purchases. OPI - Friar Friar Pants On Fire.
This is a gorgeous shimmery red, the perfect shade of red for my skin tone.
I am not a big red-wearer at all, but this polish might have turned me! I could wear this all the time.
This is a "black label" OPI - as you can see, the writing on the label is black, not green like the newer ones.
Black labels are old! This one in particular is from the British Collection in 2003, but I recently found it at a beauty supply store that doesn't get much traffic.
I bought it because it was old and on sale ($3.99!) and did not expect to end up loving it like I do!
Because it is so old, that means it does not have the Pro-Wide brush you find in the OPI of today.
Personally, I find the Pro-Wide brush quite difficult to use on some of my nails, so I'm happy this one doesn't have it!
The smaller brush allows me to paint much neater - I didn't have to do any cleanup on this mani!
Despite my previous dislike for red nails, I've always liked the color red! My bedroom walls are red, and my hair is bright red!
Maybe I'll be rocking matching nails and hair more often now!
I hope you guys are excited about this challenge, I think it's going to be fun following the schedule. Have a great day!
