It's Half Moon Mani time!

Over the last few months I've gotten a few requests to do more half moon manis, and I really should try and do it more often because I love the way they look.
It is a very simple yet very chic look.

For this manicure I used China Glaze - For Audrey, and then Wet N - Wild Black Creme.

This is a retro look, "back in the day" it was not proper for a lady to cover her entire nail in nail polish, so a small half moon was left at the cuticle. What a strange tradition! But it translates now into a very cute design.
Of course, I prefer to do it in 2 colors instead of a polish-free section.

To get a perfect half moon manicure, you should use hole reinforcements!
Not sure what those are? They are the little O-shaped stickers you would use to reinforce punched holes in paper. You can get them really cheap at Walmart or any other store that carries stationary/paper supplies.

You simply line up one of the stickers where you want your moon to be, smooth it down, and paint the top section of the nail. You must remove the sticker before the polish dries to leave a crisp line, so do it one nail at a time!

For fun, I added a coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust!

Fairy Dust over black almost looks like a galaxy! But galaxy nails is tomorrow's theme... Haha!

Too cute. I'm going to try to do this more often!

Keep your eye out for a second post from me today - I'm going to post some swatches I've been meaning to show you! :)
