Layla Hologram Effect Polishes

Hey everyone! Today is a very special day!! It is my 25th birthday today! So since I'm a huge lover for holo polishes, I decided to do my review on Layla's Hologram polishes! I was super excited to get these because they are true holo polishes. I ordered these from aveyou.com for $15.50 a bottle. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it, in which you will see. There are sometimes coupons for aveyou.com as well so you should google some coupons before buying. I took these under fluorescent light and under direct sunlight.

Mercury Twilight is a silver holo.3 coats. SOOO beautiful!! 

Coral Glam is a peachy coral holo. 3 coats. Seriously... look at that holo...

Retro Pink is a light pink holo. 3 coats.

Ultra Violet is a purple holo. 3 coats. Probably my favorite of the bunch! 

Jade Grove is a light green holo. 3 coats. A little similar to Nfu-Oh's 66.

Mermaid Spell is a light blue holo. 3 coats.

Ocean Rush is an ocean blue holo. 3 coats.

Flash Black is a black holo. 3 coats. OK I know I said Ultra Violet was my favorite, but actually this one is my favorite. It's a black holo but the holo effect is insane on this one.

The formula for these were pretty good. I did test out different base coats for them and noticed there's a slight difference during application. When put over Nfu-Oh's aqua base coat, they applied very well without any 'balding', whereas when I used my regular OPI base coat, there were some balding even when the base coat was completely dry. So for easier application, it's best to use a water base base coat.

I didn't care how much these costs me, because they were so well worth the money. It is RARE for us to see TRUE holos nowadays, that's why I am super happy to own these!

China Glaze Some Like it Haute and Marry a Millionaire

Oh no, it's Sunday.. that means the weekend is almost over :( Anyways I have a really late posts today. I have two polishes from the China Glaze Eye Candy collection. It was the only two I bought from the collection because after seeing swatches for them, the others didn't really capture my attention.

Some Like it Haute is a graphite gray glitter based with holographic glitters. 3 coats. This one is quite interesting, I love the gray glitter and then the holographic glitters just adds the right amount of spark to it.

Marry a Millionaire is a purple glitter with holographic bar glitters. 4 coats. I love the holographic bar glitters on this one, I just wished it was more opaque instead of having such a clear base.

I was a little disappointed with these because I was hoping they were opaqued with like 2 coats, but they needed more. Sometimes I get a little lazy. The formula were a little thick for these, but that's normal for heavy glitters. But it wasn't something too hard to work with. I did like both of them though especially Some Like it Haute. What were your opinions on these?

Butter London Knackered

Today I have Butter London's Knackered to share with you guys. This is my first time doing a swatch and review for Butter London. I've been seeing the polishes around but never decided to try it, but as I was browsing Macy's one day, I found them, and decided to give it a try.

I did Knackered over Rescue Beauty Lounge Mismas. It was too sheer on its own and I didn't feel like applying 4-5 coats.


Knackered is a sheer duochrome mixed with green, purple, and holo glitter. This is done with two coats over Mismas.

I love how that the base color still shows. My pictures does this polish no justice. It is gorgeous!! I'm so happy that I got it. What makes this interesting also is the holo glitters. It's still pretty alone but with purple underneath it brings out the duochrome. I should've took a picture of it alone, but I was in a rush to put it over another color. The formula was pretty good. It was smooth and I had no problems. Butter London polishes usually retails for $14 per bottle. Pretty decent price.

5 Lynnderella Swatches & Review

Well for those out there trying to get Lynnderella polishes know it's like impossible! Well it's possible just very tough. But I'm urging my readers to PLEASE be patient and to NOT purchase on eBay no matter HOW bad you want some Lynnderella's. Lynn made these polishes herself with passion and SHE should profit the money not some money hungry person. If you fail the first time, be patient and wait for the next one. Subscibe to Leah Ann's site llarowe so you can get updates on when Lynnderella's are available. I am not saying this to kiss a$$ to them but this is how I truly feel.

And that was exactly how I was able to purchase five polishes that I have for you ladies today. Of course I'll be constantly stalking llarowe to see if I can get the new collection!

Shape Shifter is a mixed holographic glitter shapes in different varieties. I did this over a blackened teal so it won't be completely black and have a little color. There's a mix of diamond, square, hex, tiny, and bar glitters.

Gotta Love Brains is a sheer gray with pink, blue, aqua, silver glitter in different shapes. This is two coats over Sally Hansen's Eel Skin. This reminds me a little of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air because of the soft shades of the glitter.


Bride of Franken is a purple shimmer with hologaphic micro glitter and blue iridescent glitters mixed with the bunch. I did two coats over Wet n Wild On A Trip. And boy do I love the turn out of this one. I love how the blue glitters just pops out of no where in certain lighting.

Snow Angel is a shimmerry hex and square glitters in a sheer frosted white base. I did two coats over white. This is very hard to photograph as the glitters are quite subtle. I tried doing it over black and it just takes out the innocence of this polish, so I decided to just keep it over a white. My picture does no justice to polish. It's a definitely must see in person.


Connect the Dots is a mix of black and white glitters, bar, square, and oval in a clear base. I did it over a hot pink from China Glaze. I can't really remember the name but I *believe* it's Flip Flop Fantasy. But anyways, Connect the Dots is an instant nail art polish. It goes with so many colors because it's black and white, and it applies like you just splattered it on your nails. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

Ok so the formula for these were amazing. They applied so smoothly, but that's also because most of these were over a base color. Nevertheless, it's still amazing. The only problem is that I needed at least two coats of top coat to smooth out the glitters, but that's never an issue for me since I barely keep my nails longer than 3 days. So even though I was showing minimal tip wear, it still looked awesome on my nails. I can't pick one favorite because I love all five of them. These are $15 at llarowe. But I feel it was worth every penny in my wallet.

Lynnderella polishes will only be available for purchase through Leah Ann. Once again I urge you to be patient and only purchase from her and not rely on eBay!

OPI Nicki Minaj Collection Swatches & Review

Today I have OPI's Nicki Minaj collection to share with you guys. I was very excited when I heard that Nicki Minaj and OPI teamed to create a collection with five colors and a shatter color. I am a huge Nicki Minaj fan, loved her ever since her first single. I love her unique style and quirky personality. On with the swatches!

Did It On 'Em is a bright lime-like green creme. 3 coats. For those who don't know Nicki Minaj's music, the name of this polish might sound a little dirty. But it's one of her song title from the Pink Friday album, which leads to the next color.


Pink Friday is a bright girly bubble gum pink creme. 2 coats. I really love this type of pink!


Fly is bright blue teal creme. 2 coats.


Save Me is filled with small silver glitters and teal blue and holographic bar glitters in a clear base. 4 coats. I love how glittery this one is!

Metallic 4 Life is a jelly-like black base with small and hex silver glitters. 3 coats.

The collection also came with a deep purple shimmer shatter called Super Bass Shatter. Here's the purple shatter I've been searching for! It looks different over different types of base colors.

The formula for these were pretty good. I only had trouble applying Metallic 4 Life because it was a bit on the thick side, but it was nothing too hard to work with. All the creme's applied very smoothly with no problems. Only Did It On 'Em required four coats, and since Save Me was a glitter in clear base, it required four. I have no complaints with the formula for this collection.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the collection. I know most of the cremes are dupeable, only Save Me and Metallic 4 Life is unique color wise. My favorites happens to be Save Me, and Pink Friday! I think Pink Friday will be my Valentine's Day mani with some nail art to it!

Etude House Dear Darling Bling Bling (Glitters!)

Hi everyone! Holidays are over, and it's back to reality! I may sound chipper about it but I'm really not :P Today I have another brand from Korea to share with you guys. It's called Etude House and it's supposedly a very well known brand in Korea and so I decided to try it for myself. I ordered it along with my Tony Moly's.


WH020 aka Extreme Jewel is a mix of purple silver glitters, packed with multi-colored, and holo glitters in a clear base. This was 3 coats.


BL019 aka Extreme Blue is a blue glitter mixed with gold, silver, and holo glitters in a sheer blue jelly like base. 2 coats


PK021 aka Extreme Rose is a pink glitter mixed with aqua, gold, and holo glitters with a sheer pink jelly like base. 2 coats.

Now what's amazing about these polishes are the different shapes of the glitters. It's a mix of round glitters, and hex glitters, a few micro-glitters as well.

I ordered these on eBay, if you want to know the seller information you may contact me through e-mail or twitter. I tend to not post seller information in case one of my readers get a bad experience and blame it on me (believe me, it happened to me before). So please buy at your own risk!

Another plus about these polishes is that the bottles are pretty cute!


I also took pictures of the bottle to test out my DIY lightbox, and I'm satisfied with the results!

The formula for these were pretty good. It leans more toward the thick side, but nothing too hard to work with. I only had a hard time with Extreme Jewel because it was in a clear base. The solution was to wait a few minutes before applying next coat, just like most glitter polishes. One great thing about Korea brand polishes is that they don't have that typical polish smell. It didn't smell bad, but it didn't smell like roses either. Dry time was pretty fast as well. One coat of top coat smoothed out any gritty glitter feelings.

I would definitely buy Etude polishes again if more colors catches my attention!
