China Glaze Metallics
Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, December 29, 2009
China Glaze marketing representative was kind enough to send me some China Glaze Metallic polishes for review - that was some kind of wonderful Christmas Miracle for me, because this is not often that companies send me polishes.
So here are those adorable colors that i have got - Adore, Millennium and My long time dream Sci-Fi . Where is no much need to say anything about formula - it is perfect as always. Colors are very opaque and look wonderful even with one coat. Perfect for Konad - as a base and as a Stamping polish as well. I also checked out, just for my own curiosity if China Glaze polishes are available in Russia, and i was pleasantly surprised that it it. it would cost about 10$ a bottle, which is a normal price for professional nail polish in Russia.
So here are the pictures and some description
1. Adore - this Metallic polish is from "Romatique" collection, but at first glance looks very similar to the one from the more recent Khrome collection. It is light green metallic with the touch of blue. The color is rich and beautiful - and aplication is really smooth.
Here is Metallic Muse from Kromes for comparability - as you can see it is also very beautiful color, but less bright when Adore. and i would say a little more minty.
2. Millennium - i would call it one of the best pure chrome metallic on the market. It is very competitive even against special Mirror effect polishes, because it shines, sparkle and reflect as a real metal. Metallics are long lasting hits and a part of any nail polish collection
3. Sci-Fi - this one is also from "Kromes". I wanted this polish ever since kromes came out - it is very intricate and provocative. I woudl call it a lacquer with the surprise. It is a silver metallic with the very gentle touch of lilack - very beautiful and very unique color.
I hope you liked this review, and it helped you to know more about China Glaze metallics
The whole true about the goose :)

SPARKLES
Posted by Unknown
This is my cute sister in law! She is so nice she just goes along with whatever I want to do. I used my own purple and then a glitter from sparkles nail products again. Just an FYI for all my clients I just ordered 12 more glitters from their website.
If you are a reader of my blog you will recognize this color nebula with a little disco ball action at the smile line. It's obvious that I am going through a disco ball phase!
These nails are done with my new favorite glitter called disco balls and one of my own blues that I mixed myself. I added little silver dots and stars all over.
On these nails I used a glitter from sparkles nail products called blue diamonds and faded another one of their glitters called disco balls. LOVE their products! P.S. Click directly on this photo to see the detail of the glitter.
Sparkly New Year
Posted by Unknown
I used clear rhinestones randomly set in my thumbnails to give them an little extra sparkle. Then I added the year to the remaining four fingers on both hands - one in dark blue rhinestones, the other in white pearls (I never seem to have enough of one color to do all ten nails, do I?).
These are all set in one coat of top coat. For some reason, I had a hard time getting the top coat even again - and I added "renew" drops to it. Weird. My apologies for the somewhat blurry photos - my hands were shaky, and the glitter doesn't help. Yes, I know I have one too many rhinestones in the dark blue "1". That's what I get for rushing...
Then some clean-up work, and voila! Sparkly nails to announce the new year.
What are you wearing on your tips for the new year?
Next week, I'm going to let my nails rest without polish. I try to do that at least once or twice a year - seems like it would be good for them. So I'll post my manicure routine here instead of a nail art tutorial next Tuesday.
Here's a toast to you, dear readers - for a wonderful start to the New Year, much happiness and lovely nails in the coming months. See you in 2010!

Illamasqua Muse
Posted by Unknown
Anyways, today I have Illamasqua Muse, quite an interesting color I must say. It is definitely a very awesome nail polish. Very pigmented, could've got away with one coat. This was done in two coats. The formula was smooth. I would consider this teal but a dark teal?
To my knowledge, there are no dupes to this. Of course, Illamasqua nail polishes are a little on the pricey side, but believe me it's worth it...
That's all I have for you today, until next time :)
Zoya Jaime
Posted by Unknown on Monday, December 28, 2009
Goodness knows how long I've wanted to try this. Finally ordered it with the Suedes and I am very disappointed.
I think the colour of Jaime is pretty, just not with my skin tone. It makes my hands look really red and darker.
The formula was OK. Needed 3 coats to be completely opaque and didn't look right sheer as it was streaky and uneven.
Maybe Zoya's Get Even would help? Hmm...
New Year's Eve Party
Posted by Unknown
This is the full tutorial for the New Year's Eve celebration that I did earlier. For this design I used a 4mm hot pink rhinestone I got from Michael's craft store as the focal point. That I surrounded with gold mini beads I got from ebay. I also used 3mm hot pink, light pink, dark & light purple rhinestones that I got from Micheal's.
This design is very quick, simple and easy to do. Simply paint the nail the colr of your choice, draw two lines crossing with gold nail art striper polish and cover that with gold glitter nail art striper polish. Next place the 4mm hot pink rhinestone {or you can choose rhinestones in colors that match your outfit for the evening} and surround that with the gold mini beads and finally in one of the sections of the nail randomly place the 3mm rhinestones.
It really is as easy as it looks so try it out this New Year's Eve!

Well this is the idea my friend came up with for the New Year's Eve themed contest. This is my first attempt at a free hand acrylic design. I didn't use any other embellishments on this design because it is busy enough as is.
I like the way it turned out, I do however need practice and to try again and make it a bit more neat. I'll be doing a full tutorial once I have this design completed. I just wanted to post my first try. I haven't worked with acrylic in years so I'm definately rusty and need practice. That will be coming very soon as I plan on doing my own acrylic VERY SOON!
Keep an eye out for more of my acrylic work because I have some crazy Hello Kitty designs in mind for the future!!! Yay for Kitty!
Take care Y'all!
I finally had a chance to try the 3D nail art molds.
Posted by Unknown
This is a modified version of the design that I currently have on my thumb nail. On the rest of my fingers I have the Frosty French design. I just wanted to try out ther 3d nail art molds that I recently posted about. I love them! They are so easy to use and only take a couple of minutes to do.
Very soon I'll be making a few tutorials using them so be sure to stay tuned for that. Remember that you can get these 3d nail art molds Noxandra's ebay store for $1.99 & $1.00 shipping!
Times Square
Posted by Unknown on Saturday, December 26, 2009
This is my first New Year's Eve 3d nail art design. As I've said it was inspired by the ball dropping in Times Square. This design is very east to do and very quick!
Sorry if the music sucks but I like Abba {I'm showing my age LOL}
Stay tuned for more New Year's Eve tutorials this week! Take care!
Limbo Bimbo
Posted by Unknown
If the latter, I think the creators of this shade have done an excellent job of capturing the spirit of tropical harlotry. Actually, this exact shade of pink is what I imagine on the toenails of the runner-up of MILF Island as she scrabbles desperately for a foothold during the Bikini Limbo-Off over the Pit of Snakes and Baby Oil.
I think the most pressing question, though, is what kind of woman wants to deliberately go out and associate herself with outdated misogynistic slang. I appreciate the rhyme, but in this context, it just feels like a set-up for a vaguely seedy limerick:
A lady out painting her nails
Hopes to lure in a new set of males:
"If my fresh coat of Bimbo
Doesn't catch trucker Jimbo
I'll look bad on Springer!" she wails.
Color Club Blue Light
Posted by Unknown
I have never been interested in Blue Light until Color Club was recently brought to New Zealand. It's so nice to see these in almost every chemist!
They brought the neon's out first (the line Blue Light is a part of), then the newer neon collection that has Pure Energy in them and then the minis! Which are so adorable. Also those Japanese ones are in the mini lot.
Blue Light is one of the very few light blue pastels. I was hoping China Glazes Up & Away collection would have one, luckily Orly picked up on that one.
Blue Light's formula isn't the best, but it isn't too bad either. The first coat was quite runny, messy and a little sheer. But the second coat really gave good coverage and I think the first coat is always the hardest/messiest.
I did a third coat to even it out as Blue Light didn't really level itself out on my nail. You could easily get away with two coats though.
Overall I am really happy with Blue Light and also see that it would be an amazing pedi colour too.
(The first photo in this post is the real colour of Blue Light)
