Barielle Spam #1

Hey everyone!
I recently got to try a new-to-me brand, Barielle, because these awesome 5-pack sets showed up at Winners here in Canada. (5 for $16.99!)
I ended up being able to get all the shades I had my eye on which made me totally pumped.
I'm going to show you five of them today (and the other five whenever I manage to swatch them.)

I'll start with my absolute favorite!

Barielle - Do Unto Others
This is a totally cute and happy shade of bright turquoise. Just perfect.

This applied great in 2 coats and I totally love it. I've heard it stains pretty badly though which sucks but I will deal with it anyway because of the color payoff.
Love love love.
I tried dupe-hunting in my stash but couldn't find anything identical.

Barielle - Decadence 
Another win! Shimmery teal. I think this was three coats. Not streaky and draggy like some similar shimmers.

At first I thought this was super unique in my collection but then I remembered Orly's Bailamos. That's a bit more blue but they are definitely in the same vein.

Barielle - Swizzle Stix
This is a cute light blue jelly-creme. You know, one of those polishes that can't decide if it is creme or jelly. It's in between.

Very "squishy" looking but without the visible nail line. Me likey. Not a unique shade, but cute none the less.

Barielle - Slate of Affairs 
This is a pretty slate blue color, sort of periwinkle looking, with bright blue shimmer. 3 coats for full coverage.

It reminds me of H&M's Peppermint Fusion but darker. Big fan.

Last but not least, a flakie!

Barielle - Buddha-ful
I love the name of this polish, it's so cute! This is a pretty interesting polish, it's a nude jelly packed with green flakies. Three coats are shown here to build the base color.
Because of the milky base it can be difficult to find the correct polish to layer it over.

Above it is pictured over black, Slate of Affairs, and Do Unto Others.
I absolutely love it over Do Unto Others but the milky base makes it sort of cloudy on the darker shades. If you apply it really evenly it can look nice but I prefer it on brighter, lighter colors.

30 day challenge.. Day 1 (red)

Ok so while reading through the blogs I found this 31 day challenge and loved the idea! I then posted it on  Facebook in a group (Face and Friends) I'm in and everyone loved it too so we all decided to start on the 1st. We realized that September only has 30 days so its the 30 day challenge for us.

So today is day 1 and the color is red. I am not a big fan of red but It gave me a chance to try out two new reds that Ive been meaning to use. I wanted to do a glitter sandwich so I started with a coat of Barielle Elle's spell then added a coat of Lynnderella's Ruby red ruby and finished it off with 2 coat of Elle's spell.

I love this combination even thought I don't like reds this is a keeper atleast till tomorrow lol... What are your favorite reds?

Barielle Positive Zen-ergry

This is 2 coats of the Barielle Positive Zen-ergy from their new Karma Collection. I've never used Barielle polishes before & they graciously sent me a few to try out. Positive Zen-ergy is a slightly warm, medium toned green with subtle silver shimmer. I think this one will be flattering on almost any skintone and it works all year round. The formula & brush are very nice too.

I love green polishes and this one is definitely staying in my stash. I think it would be a great green for anyone who has been a little shy of trying things other than traditional polish colors too.

Barielle Buddha-ful

I took tons of pictures of the gorgeous Barielle Buddha-ful from their Karma Collection. I've never used Barielle polishes before & they graciously sent me a few to try out. Buddha-ful is completely unique, something that can't be said very often these days! Its a soft beige jelly loaded with flakies that flash from aquamarine foil to pale pink. I like it so much that I've already worn it twice!

 

 

I used 3 fairly thick coats. I recommend waiting for each coat to dry a bit before applying the next one. The formula applies very nicely but flakies are by nature a bit thick to keep the flakes properly suspended and that just requires a little drying time. Buddha-ful is is definitely worth a couple of extra minutes for this pretty polish.

I love polishes like this that could be mistaken for a nice but plain work sfae polish. Then you get up close and magic! I can't wait to try this as a layering polish. I bet it will be fabulous over hot pink or maybe royal blue.

Barielle Soul-er Powered

Here we have 3 coats of the lovely Barielle Soul-er Powered from their new Karma Collection. I've never used Barielle polishes before & they graciously sent me a few to try out. Soul-er Powered is a gorgeous warm toned yellow packed with shimmer. Like late summer sun in a bottle!  I wish I had Soul-er Powered back when I did this rising sun manicure; it would have been perfect!
Yellow polishes are notorious for being streaky and hard to work with in general. This one didn't have the usual yellow issues but I did notice that I needed to wait a bit longer than normal between coats. There was a bit of dragging if the previous layer hadn't dried significantly. Other than that the formula was very nicely textured.

This is a quick shot of Soul-er Powered in the shade, where it looks a bit more mustard-y. Gorgeous in all lighting in my opinion! This one is definitely a keeper.

Playing with Perplex....

So I finally got Revlon Perplex, Chanel's Pradoxal dupe!! I actually grabbed 2, but I'm saving 1 for a give away I'm going to have, along with some other prettes :) I'll probaby have it after the new year!! It really is such a pretty color, and the hidden shimmer is GORG! Here are a bunch of different manis, all using this!!!

Here she is all by her pretty self :)

Then I used my Bundle Monster plate, BM20 to do this design. I just used Sinful's Black on Black for the image

Here I did Perplex with Nicole's Pitch Black Glimmer over top

Annnnnnnd....of course black tips :)

Then I tried it under Barielle's Elle's Spell, and LOVED IT!!! You can really see the flakies in Elle's Spell now.

But add a coat of the Nicole Pitch Black Glimmer, and you have a very fun mani!!!

Barielles Elle's Spell

I was able to grab Elle's Spell at Ulta the other night, and just look at how beautiful it is!!! Like I've said before, I'm a sucker for any flakie!!  I tried it over a black and China Glaze's Ruby Deer
