Nubar - Reclaim

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, March 18, 2012

Good morning! Yes, I failed to post again yesterday after promising green polish spam. I'm pretty sure I ended up with a second cold because I'm sick all over again!

I'll show you some holo today to hopefully win back your love!

Nubar - Reclaim
Reclaim is a grass green linear holo polish which is still readily available on Nubar's website or on eBay.
It's quite a nice color but I'm not totally impressed.

Formula is decent, and it's nice to have available holos, but I just didn't love it on me the way I loved it in other people's photos. I think I'll put this one in my "swap pile."

I've got a paper due this week so I might go on the missing list again. Forgive me!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, March 17, 2012

Hey guys!!!! Whew, I've been so busy today getting ready for our neighborhood St. Patrick's Day party. I did manage to make time to get pics of my mani and post, whoo hoo! This will be short though sorry, because I have to wake Jack up and go run more errands.

Hope you guys have a great day and night!!!

I started with Nubar Reclaim for the base of my St. Patty Day mani

I then used Claire's 14 Karats gold polish and my Bundle Monster plate BM19 for the polka dots.

OPI Pink Shatter, Two Looks

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, February 16, 2012

I still love crackle polishes & I probably always will. I rarely keep my nails the same for more than 3 days in a row, but occasionally I just don't have time to completely start fresh. If my nails are looking chipped or have tip wear & I'm in a rush, I always reach for a crackle. They dry quickly, are virtually foolproof, & easily cover any wear that I want to hide.

That being said, OPI Pink Shatter didn't win me over on my first try when paired with The Painted Nail by Nubar OMG Gorgeous. It dried matte & just seemed kind of weak & washed out. The formula was fine but very sheer for a crackle.
I wanted to give it another try before I gave up on it & I'm so glad I did. I layered it over Maybelline New Year's Blues with almost no expectations. The results were quite amazing. I think this combination would be a good start for some galaxy nails which I still haven't successfully done yet.

Lynnderella - Love Potion No. 99..... Again

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, January 15, 2012

Hey guys! I told you in my last post that I would be posting about this polish again, and I am true to my word!
I had to post about it again because this time I layered it over the best polish you could possibly layer this over.
It's a perfect match. I'll show you the underwear first:

Nubar - Violet Sparkle
This is pure purple glitter. As purple as purple gets. Hard to photograph correctly but I think I got it!

This is three coats for full coverage. This needs several coats of topcoat to be smooth because it keeps soaking up the topcoat!

I wore this alone for a few days and I liked it, but it wasn't amazing. I didn't know what to do over it.
First I did some stamping but that didn't turn out nice. And then I spotted my Lynnderella... And realized that they were a perfect match!

Please enlarge that photo. You need to. (And I'm really sorry for the awful cuticles - I was taking photos in sunlight (because we actually HAD some) and didn't realize that it showed how terrible my cuticles were!)

OMG. That's all I have to say.

I took more photos on the second day of wear so some of these photos have slight tipwear.
I wanted to get more sunlight pictures because my first ones didn't please me because of the dry skin, but the sun disappeared again. Of course! So I'm showing you a combination of artificial and sunlight photos.

I can't handle this! I love it so much I made myself some matching earrings and a ring.

It's a purple glitter party.
Are you loving this as much as I am?!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps + Nubar Fire Sparkle + RA-110

December 09, 2011

I started with two coats of China Glaze Ruby Pumps with one coat of top coat.

The next day, I added one coat of Nubar Fire Sparkle!!!!

I got my idea for a peppermint nail design from Ashley over at Smashley Sparkles!!!!

I stamped on a peppermint nail tip with Kleancolor White and Red Angel Stamping Plate RA-110. Then I added one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust and one coat of top coat!

CND Midnight Sapphire + CND Sheer 24k Sparkle + Nubar Night Sparkle

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, November 13, 2011

November 13, 2011

This is two coats of CND Midnight Sapphire, a rich navy blue creme polish, with no top coat. Simply amazing! Just look at that shine! This polish is featured in the CND The Look Fall/Winter 2011 box.

Then I added two coats of Nubar Night Sparkle and two THICK coats of China Glaze Fast Dry Top Coat. Doesn't this polish look amazing?

P.S. this polish eats top coat. If I had any gelous, I would have used that instead.

And if that wasn't enough layers, I decided to add more. I added two coats (but I think I should have only added one coat) of CND Sheer 24k Sparkle, a gold flakie top coat. This polish was also featured in the CND The Look Fall/Winter 2011 box. It was hard for me to photograph this polish for some reason.

The Painted Nail By Nubar OMG Gorgeous

Posted by Unknown on Monday, October 24, 2011

I won The Painted Nail by Nubar's OMG Gorgeous from Rin's Nail Files. Another great example of why I love giveaways! I would never pickup this polish for myself; I just don't think of myself as a glitter fan. OMG Gorgeous is a great polish though & I'm glad I have it.

Pictured is 3 easily applied coats. Bright purple round glitter in a clear base. I took lots of pictures in full sunlight & the shade. Pretty polish!
