Scotch Tape Mani

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, April 12, 2011

I had oral surgery yesterday so today has been a lazy day...perfect to stalk eBay for nail polish! I won a few Kleancolors for a good deal...a little something for my discomfort. haha
I, along with lots of others, took this idea from Chloe's Nails. I didn't realize that I had done this look exactly like one of hers until I looked back on her post! Oh well...

I used Zoya Mira for the base...I am so sad I didn't get a pic of it alone because it's GORGEOUS! Sometimes I wish I could restrain myself; not stamp or anything, but I just can't help it...so Mira got China Glaze IDK and ELF black layered on top. This was fun to do, but even with the help of Seche Vite, it took forever!

Loving the holo!!

Pink Wednesday tomorrow!

China Glaze L8R G8R and Bundle Monster

Posted by Unknown on Monday, April 11, 2011

I'm finally back! Wrapping up school and busy family life have kept me from blogging...which I think I am officially addicted to. ha So today is one of the amazing China Glaze OMGs...L8R G8R. It's one of the 3 coaters of the bunch, but that doesn't matter...just LOOK at it!!

These are taken in artificial light...my town doesn't see real sunlight for probably another month or two. So depressing!

Here is my design...another Bundle Monster contest idea that I decided against because it's not entirely my original idea. This is our spin on another idea, but I can't remember where I saw it so if anyone knows, tell me so I can credit them!

This is done with BM plates 6 and 16. Stamped with Konad white. The yellow is stamping polish from Born Pretty Store, which I wouldn't recommend because isn't the best for stamping...it dries before you can actually stamp it. Dustin got all artsy with the butterflies...he did a great job!

This is topped off with Seche Vite...it kinda made the green bleed through the white a little bit. Kinda weird.

Here's the other hand, different color butterflies!

Sorry for the fuzzy picture...but here are Taylee's toes. Zoya Kimmy! She is so hard to catch at the right moment to paint her nails so I was happy it finally worked out!

And finally a quote from my husband: "I put the man in manicure!" HAHA

Zoya Bekka

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Hello! Today's mani is Bekka from Zoya with fruit designs from Bundle Monster. This was originally going to be my entry for the Bundle Monster contest, but I changed my mind and didn't finish it all up the way Dustin and I were planning. BUT, it renewed my love for Bekka! This totally color reminds me of Mountain Dew! I got this color in the 3 free promo and have only used it once besides now. It was pretty sheer until 4 coats, this time my genius hubby put a white base underneath and we only needed 2 coats.

The plates used are BM 04 and 05 and stamping polish is Konad White.
This was also my first experience using Seche Vite and I think I'm in love! This mani is sorta half done so it doesn't really shine like it should. But hopefully next time around it will get the glory it deserves! :P

Finally, I joined Pink Wednesdays, thus the new pic at the bottom of my blog. I know it's Wednesday and this mani isn't pink, but I just joined today so I think it's alright. Next week for sure, I think it's a cute idea!

Tropical flowers

Posted by Unknown on Monday, February 14, 2011

I bought some new polishes this weekend.
I used 17 Fast finish in Out of the Blue (needed 2 thick coats was streaky), Lasting fix in Tropical Island (top orange), Lasting Fix in Orange Soda, Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Lemon Sherbert. Base coat was Orly Nail Armor and Top coat was Sec n dry.
I hope you like them. The clean up isn't great I just wanted to get them finished tonight. The top coat is good in that it drys quickly and I haven't seen any shrinkage, you can paint on lots of layers over a few days and can look very shiny. Down side is that it smudges nail art. I might go back to Seche vite.. love the speed, and that it doesn't mess up the designs but annoyed it goes so gloopy so fast and I have to buy an additional product to sort it out. It also shrinks a lot too. Bit of a top coat review there!
I hope you all had a lovely valentines day. Me and Chicky did same as every year... nothing! We are not terribly romatic
