Zoya True Collection and Fleck Effect Collection for Spring 2012

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Today I have the Zoya True Collection and Fleck Effect Collection for Spring 2012 to share with you guys. Zoya came out with six gorgeous shades for the Spring with three cremes, and three gorgeous shimmers. Along with the True Collection, is the Fleck Effect collection which consists of three flakies! That's right FLAKIES!

Cho is a gorgeous yellow toned beige creme. 3 coats. I can't help but to think of Harry Potter and Cho with this name :)

Farah is a tan beige creme. 2 coats. I love the look of this one because it is very neutral and it has this unique shade on it.

Bevin is a smokey turquoise green creme. 2 coats. I love this musky like look of polishes, where the color isn't vivid but it still stands out.

Skylar is a slate blue with gold and silver shimmers. 2 coats. How gorgeous is Skylar?! I love how you can see both the gold and silver shimmer.

Tru is a purple base with gold shimmers. 2 coats. Tru has a true purple look to it (you see what I did there? har har har) And I was quite surprised I was able to capture it on camera since purples usually translate into blues in pictures.

Lotus is a dusty purple with pink shimmers. 2 coats. I love this one! I think pink and purple goes really well together.

The True collection is the perfect collection to welcome the Spring season. There wasn't a single color I didn't like. The formula is the typical Zoya formula which applied flawlessly. Only Cho needed three coats, under two coats my nail line was still visible and I didn't really like that. Nevertheless, the collection is simply gorgeous!

Now let's have a look at the Fleck Effect Collection!

Masie over Cho. Masie is a green flakie with a very sheer blue base

Masie over Farah

Opal over Bevin. Opal is also a green flakie in a super sheer green base.

Opal over Skylar.

Opal over Skylar without flash. This shows more of the green.

Chloe over Tru. Chloe is a pink, orange, and green flakie in a super sheer pink base.

Chloe over Lotus

Chloe over Lotus with different angle to show the flashes of orange and green.

Chloe without flash over Lotus, showing more flashes of orange, and green, and you can see slight pink flashes here.

I am a true flakie fan, so I was super excited to see that Zoya was making flakies! These were a little on the thick side, but being that it's a top coat that's not an issue for me. I know we've seen plenty of green flakies and orange flakies, but this is from Zoya!

Overall, I am quite satisfy with the collections. I can't pick favorites because they're all gorgeous. I love the shimmers the most!

Well that's all I have for today, what do you guys think of the True Collection? and the Fleck Effect collection?

Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors Collection Swatches & Review

Posted by Unknown on Monday, November 28, 2011

Happy Monday! Today I have Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors Collection to share. This collection consists of 14 polishes with a mix of glitters, shimmers, and cremes!

Rainbow in the S-Kylie is a rainbow mix of big hex glitters and small glitters in a clear base. This was 3 coats. It's pretty much a dupe to Rainbow Connection.

Disco Dolls is a gold glitter mixed with multicolored glitters. 3 coats. Very interesting, I like!

Kendall on the Katwalk is a blue silver glitter with a sheer blue base. 2 coats

Wear Something Spar-Kylie is a pink and silver glitter with a sheer jelly like pink base. 3 coats.

Follow Me on Glitter is a charcoal silver glitter mixed with multicolored glitters. 3 coats. The multicolor glitters are not as visible here as Disco Dolls.

It's All About the Glame is a pearly white creme with hints of silver shimmer. 3 coats. I like this one because it looks pretty elegant.

Kim-pletely in Love is a baby pink creme with hints of white-ish silver shimmer. 3 coats

Listen to Your Momager is a royal blue shimmer. 2 coats

Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi is a orange red creme. 2 coats.

Sealed with a Kris is a dark brick red creme. 2 coats.

Hard Kourt Fashionita is a dark brown creme. 2 coats.

My Empire..My Rules is a light tan brown gray creme. 2 coats

All Kendall-ed Up is a bright barbie pink creme. 2 coats

Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam is a dark teal creme. 2 coats.

The formula for these were great, they all applied smoothly and even with no complaints. The cremes were pretty opaque with just two coats. The glitters weren't hard to work with. As for the colors, there are some hits and misses. Some are easily dupeable and some are just plain boring. But I did have a few favorites, such as Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, Disco Dolls, and It's All About the Glam. Overall, the collection is not bad. The only thing I didn't like were the names, no offense, but they were a bit...corny. But sometimes, it's mostly the color that counts! :D

What do you guys think of this collection? Which are your favorites?

Zoya Sunshine Collection Summer 2011

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, April 23, 2011

Today I have for you Zoya's Sunshine Collection for Summer 2011. I called off work yesterday because I was sick. I was dizzy and lightheaded all day :( Stayed in bed and slept the whole day away. Today I'm feeling slightly better, just a little bit weak. But anyways, I love this whole collection. Perfect for the summer and its packed with a lot of sparkly flecks. Have a look:

Apple is a green with light-yellow tones and packed with gold flecks. 2 coats

Tanzy is a light orange with tons of gold flecks. 2 coats

Rica is a golden coral shimmer. It seems pink in certain lights. 2 coats

Reva is a red with gold flecks. 2 coats

Faye is a warm purple base with gold flecks everywhere. 2 coats. I think is my favorite.

Kimmy is a light red with golden flecks. 2 coats

So many gold flecks, so gorgeous. These comes to life in person. My pictures make it seems dull and all but in person the colors are so vibrant and so bam in your face lol. The formula for these were awesome as always. I didn't have any problems with it. I'm still wearing Kimmy and it's been 3 days already and there are no chips whatsoever, so these are long lasting. Hopefully I'll have the energy to change my nails later. As much as I love this collection, I like my nails a different color each day :D

So did you guys buy this collection? If so what's your favorite? I absolutely love Faye, Apple and Rica. By far the best Summer collection out there thus far. I am glad I bought them all!

OPI Texas Collection

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, April 16, 2011

Today I finally have the OPI Texas Collection to share. I am very late on these but it was worth it. I purchased this whole collection myself and thought it was worth every penny spent. This collection consists of 12 colors, 6 of which are a sorbet/jelly like finish. All pictures were taken under fluorescent lights.

Don't Mess with OPI is a grass green creme. 2 coats

Suzi Loves Cowboys is a chocolate brown creme. 2 coats. This is like a true brown color which I love.

San Tan-Tonio is a sand beige creme. 2 coats

It's Totally Fort Worth It is a lavender gray shimmer with very light flashes of pink flecks. 2 coats.

Austin-tatious Turquoise is a green base turquoise shimmer. 3 coats

I Vant to be A-lone Star is a silvery blue with a semi pearl finish. 2 coats. Very gorgeous color.

And now the sorbets, my favorites of the whole collection.

Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? is a bright orange sorbet. 3 coats

Do You Think I'm Tex-y? is a berry pink sorbet. 3 coats

Guy Meets Gal-veston is a coral red sorbet. 3 coats

Big Hair...Big Nails is an orange red sorbet. 3 coats

Houston We Have a Purple is a berry purple sorbet. 3 coats

Too Hot Pink to Hold 'em is a hot pink sorbet. 3 coats. My pinky nail broke on this one :(

First off, I want to rave about how much I loved the sorbets. I have an obsession for jelly like polishes. Something about the shiny finish that attracts me. At first I didn't want to get any of the sorbets because they simply didn't look like any unique colors. And they're really not but the finish is amazing. My pictures don't do any justice for them, you have to see these in person. Jellies tend to be sheer, so all these required three coats to achieve bottle color, yet you still see some visible nail line. I don't mind that at all because well I love jellies lol

Overall the collection was awesome. There wasn't a single polish I didn't like. The formulas were excellent. No complaints on that. They were well pigmented with a very high shine finish, even though I still used a top coat. I think OPI needs to come out with more sorbet colors! I would definitely buy them all.

What do you guys think?

Sephora by OPI Urban Ballerina Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, February 28, 2011

Today I have Sephora by OPI's newest collection called Urban Ballerina. I was a little indecisive on whether to buy the whole collection or not, but since I'm loving all these spring collections, I thought this one wouldn't disappoint. Take a look at the swatches.

Break a Leg-Warmer is a charcoal gray creme. Very opaque under one coat, but this was under two coats

Who's Spinning Tonight? is a purple creme with subtle shimmers. 2 coats

Shiny Dancer is a dark charcoal gray shimmer with a semi metallic finish. 2 coats

Let's PliƩ is a light beige creme with subtle silver shimmers. 3 coats. It was streaky with the first coat but after the 2nd coat it evened out

Leotard-Optional is a mocha beige creme. Which really reminds me of a mocha drink. 3 coats

The Way Tutu His Heart is a very light pink almost white out pink. 3 coats. Also streaky with 1st coat but started to even out. I like how this one looks white with a hint of pink on it.

Overall, I liked the whole collection. Not all the colors are unique, but majority of them are. Leotard-Optional might have a few similar polishes and Shiny Dancer as well. But I can't think of any like or dupes for the other ones. The formula for these were great. They're available at sephora.com for $9 each. Prices are a bit high in my opinion, but you get what you paid. These are better formula than most $23 bottle nail polishes =X

Well that's all I have for today!
