Jelly Glitter Sandwiches

I don't have many jelly finish polishes in my stash. I like that they look all squishy and juicy, but I feel like they NEVER dry! Even if I use a quick dry top coat, they always get dinged up and ruined.

I recently showed you Sation Sheer Legs, which is in fact, Sheer! And I picked up a mini OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-y which is a jelly. So here are some jelly sandwiches!

This is 3 coats of Sation Sheer Legs topped with a coat of WnW Party of 5 Glitters then 1 additional coat of Sheer Legs. I think it makes for an exciting nude!

This is 3 coats of OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-y

Topped with 1 coat of WnW Party of 5 Glitters

Followed by an additional coat of OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-y

Deborah Lippmann Yellow Brick Road

Hi! I hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend. I sure did! It was great to just relax with my mom and spending time with her (since she always complain I don't spend time with her) But anyways today I have Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road to share with you guys.


Yellow Brick Road is a sheer yellow jelly. This was done in four coats if you wanted full coverage. There is still visible nail line but most jelly finishes are like that and I'm totally fine with it.

I absolutely love jellies, therefore this one was a must for me. The formula was excellent. It wasn't streaky and applied perfectly with no fuss. Most people would complain about it being four coats. Some people don't have the patience for it, but I think it's worth the time spent because this turned out to look pretty gorgeous to me.

Yellow seems to be a trend for Summer nails. This would be the first yellow jelly I have (and so far no dupes as of yet)

OPI Nice Stems Summer 2011 Swatches and Review

Wow, today is the last day of June. Where did June go?

Today I have OPI's Nice Stems Collection for Summer 2011 to share with you guys. This collection consists of four gorgeous pinks in a variety of finishes.



I Lily Love You is a sheer jelly pink with holographic glitters and flakes. This was three coats.


Play the Peonies is a soft shimmery pale pink with iridescent finish. 2 coats. It has sort of a pearly finish. A very interesting color and finish actually. It was a little bit streaky but after the 2nd coat everything evened out.


I Lily Love You over Play the Peonies. I love how the color just changes because of I Lily Love You.


Come to Poppy is a vibrant coral pink shimmer. 2 coats. It was actually opaque in one coat. But you know me ^_^

Be A Dahlia Won't You? is a bright fuchsia shimmer with plenty of gold specks. 2 coats.

Overall, this collection is very cute and very girly. I loved all the pinks and they are actually wearable for me. They're great for summer. I love how I Lily Love You adds sparkle to the others. As you all know, I love all things glitter. The formula for these are excellent. They were fully opaque and only needed two coats for full coverage. My favorite happens to be Play the Peonies because it's such an interesting color and interesting finish. Don't have any similar polishes like that. Which ones do you like?

Guest Post- Essie Guchi Muchi Puchi

Hey Guys!  This is Kimberly.  I am Leslie's older sister as some of you may know.  She has invited me to do a guest post for you guys.  Hope you enjoy.

A couple of weeks ago, Leslie mentioned this pink jelly that she gave to me.  She wasn't all that impressed, but I loved it.  It is opaque enough to cover any imperfections, yet still falls into the baby pink color scheme that I love.  I applied one coat of Essie's Ridge Filler as a base coat.  Then 2 coats of Guchi Muchi Puchi.  These pictures were taken without a top coat.  I have plans to apply soon just to make it last longer.  I also realize that they need some clean up around the edges, so I'll get to that when I do top coat.   I guess I was just so excited to do my first post, that I lost my mind.

And I can't leave without letting my little man say hello!  He really is a country bumpkin!

OPI Texas Collection

Today I finally have the OPI Texas Collection to share. I am very late on these but it was worth it. I purchased this whole collection myself and thought it was worth every penny spent. This collection consists of 12 colors, 6 of which are a sorbet/jelly like finish. All pictures were taken under fluorescent lights.


Don't Mess with OPI is a grass green creme. 2 coats


Suzi Loves Cowboys is a chocolate brown creme. 2 coats. This is like a true brown color which I love.


San Tan-Tonio is a sand beige creme. 2 coats


It's Totally Fort Worth It is a lavender gray shimmer with very light flashes of pink flecks. 2 coats.


Austin-tatious Turquoise is a green base turquoise shimmer. 3 coats


I Vant to be A-lone Star is a silvery blue with a semi pearl finish. 2 coats. Very gorgeous color.

And now the sorbets, my favorites of the whole collection.


Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? is a bright orange sorbet. 3 coats


Do You Think I'm Tex-y? is a berry pink sorbet. 3 coats


Guy Meets Gal-veston is a coral red sorbet. 3 coats


Big Hair...Big Nails is an orange red sorbet. 3 coats


Houston We Have a Purple is a berry purple sorbet. 3 coats


Too Hot Pink to Hold 'em is a hot pink sorbet. 3 coats. My pinky nail broke on this one :(

First off, I want to rave about how much I loved the sorbets. I have an obsession for jelly like polishes. Something about the shiny finish that attracts me. At first I didn't want to get any of the sorbets because they simply didn't look like any unique colors. And they're really not but the finish is amazing. My pictures don't do any justice for them, you have to see these in person. Jellies tend to be sheer, so all these required three coats to achieve bottle color, yet you still see some visible nail line. I don't mind that at all because well I love jellies lol

Overall the collection was awesome. There wasn't a single polish I didn't like. The formulas were excellent. No complaints on that. They were well pigmented with a very high shine finish, even though I still used a top coat. I think OPI needs to come out with more sorbet colors! I would definitely buy them all.

Deborah Lippmann for Spring 2011

When I saw the press release for Deborah Lippmann's spring collection, I knew I gotta get them in my hands. Deborah Lippmann came out with two new colors for the spring.

Take a look:


Glitter in the Air is a sheer pale blue jelly like base with sky blue and pink hexagon glitters. How stunning is this one?! I'm in love with it. It's very sheer, this was under five coats and there's still visible nail lines. I still like the way it looks though. It gives off this ghostly like feel to it. This would probably look nice under a sky blue creme, guess I will try that next time.



Naked is a nude creme with a semi-jelly base. I have a lot of nude polishes but I think this one might be my favorite. It matches my skin tone very well. This was under three coats.

The formula for both of these are pretty good. I didn't have any problems with it. It dried pretty fast too. For Glitter in the Air, with 5 coats, it dried under a decent amount of time.

I absolutely love Glitter in the Air, couldn't stop staring at my nails while wearing them :)

Three Zoya Swatches

A few weeks ago Zoya had a promo to get three free nail polishes and you only have to pay for their shipping. This promo was for Zoya reaching 20,000 fans on facebook. Even though I have a lot of Zoya polishes I still took advantage of this. I mean it was free! My three choices were all sheer jelly-like polishes; Miley, Lulu, and Jane.

As some of you may know, I love jelly base polishes. I love the way it looks on nails.


Miley is a sheer lavender jelly like creme. This took 4 coats to reach bottle color, but that's expected for most jellies


Lulu is a sheer light peach jelly base. This one also took four coats to reach bottle color.


Jane is a sheer nude, very slim jelly-like base. This was three coats. I bought this for french mani's

I love Zoya polishes and they never give me problems, I was pretty satisfied with all three that I picked :)

4 Nfu-Oh Swatches

I've purchased these four Nfu-Oh polishes probably last year and didn't get to swatch till now. I love Nfu-Oh polishes especially for their flakies. Which I think all nail polish brands should make more of!

66 is a slight green holo. It's more of a silver holo but it has hints of green. 3 coats


56 is a green flakies with hints of blue. This was two coats over 569.


55 is a light green flakie with hints of gold flakies. The flakies is kinda weak here, it doesn't pop out so this one was kind of boring for me. Plus it was very sheer, this was under 4 coats


569 is a dark green jelly. This was suppose to be a dupe for NARs Zulu and I think it's pretty similar, and might be even better. This was 2 coats

I'm looking forward to purchase more Nfu-Oh polishes in the future, especially their holos. I got these at fabuloustreet.com. They retail for $12.50 a bottle which I think its some what worth it since no other brands make as much flakies as them. Not to mention the bottle is so cute :)

NARS Vintage Nail Polish Collection

Just 3 days left until Christmas! Eep! So excited :) I have a few posts set up ready to be posted for the rest of this month. I just have to write a review and that's it. I'm so close with emptying my never tried stash. By January I should be finish with everything hopefully. At least now I am up to date (somewhat) with the newer collections.

Today I have four of the NARS Vintage Collection. I did not buy metal jacket because.. actually I don't even know why I didn't buy it. Probably because it didn't amuse me. Although people are raving about it, maybe I'll try it on at a Sephora store and see if I'll like it or something.

So the most infamous polish NARS Zulu is finally re-released and fulfilled us nail fanatics dream (not quite all of it, but at least its a start) I've been dying for NARS Zulu so I am glad they re-released it, although in comparison to the old one, it's not as jelly or whatsoever. That didn't really bother me. Here's the swatches:



Zulu - blackened green jelly. 3 coats


Midnight Express - dark rich navy blue jelly. 3 coats


Mash - a deep olive shimmer. 2 coats. I was excited about this one too :)


King Kong - a medium brown bronze shimmer. 2 coats. I thought King Kong was dark brown? Donkey Kong is this shade.. lol

So I loved all four of these. Can't pick favorites because that's a toughie. I love the jellies the most because I have an obsession for jelly polishes. Formula was super good. I had no problems. A lot of people complain about some streaks or visible brush strokes for King Kong but I didn't have any problem with that.

Lippmann Collection 'All That Jazz' Color Trio (Nordstrom Exclusive)

Hey guys, I'm up early because I'm going on a "mini vacation" for four days. So I decided to do a quick update while waiting for my boyfriend. I have the Lippmann Collection All The Jazz from Nordstrom.

This collection was a huge improvement compared to their previous one, in which I even forgot the name (Ruby Red Slippers was in it). Because I loved all three of them!

Here they are:


Razzle Dazzle - raspberry jelly base with raspberry glitters. 2 coats. Sorry for the blurry pic but my camera was running on low battery when I took this. I was too lazy to charge -_-


Lady Sings the Blues - dark navy blue base with silver/blue glitters and hex glitters. 3 coats. I love how the blue hex shows even with the dark base.



Some Enchanted Evening - a clear base with salmon pink glitters and hex. 2 coats. I decided to layer this over white (RBL's Underwear) to give it a more "softer" look. I like how it turned out. :)

OPI Pink Me I'm Good

Hey all! It's late, but I wanted to get an entry in before I hit the sheets. So I've been lemming OPI's Pink Me I'm Good since I saw swatches of it. Unfortunately, it was a Valentines Day exclusive for Ulta. Even more unfortunate, there are absolutely no near by Ulta's here in New York. Bummer for me. But! With pure luck, I saw a giveaway for this polish from Dia on Honest Babes. I've decided to try my luck, and to my surprise, I was the winner. So you can imagine how extremely happy I was. Those who are unfamiliar with her blog should check it out, she shows lovely swatches!
