Deborah Lippmann for Gaga's Workshop Edge of Glory

Happy New Years Eve! Today I have the infamous Deborah Lippmann for Gaga's Workshop the Edge of Glory two step 3D holographic set. This set was made exclusively for the workshop in Barneys. It retails for $45 and is still available at the Barneys website.

Normally, I would not spend $45 on a set of polishes that can be easily dupeable, but I knew I would regret it if I don't buy it and if it ever goes out of stock. But I didn't do it for that reason, the other reason is that it's also for charity. Here's a little information about Gaga's workshop:

A unique collaboration with Lady Gaga, the campaign brings together renowned creative talents
including artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of assume vivid astro focus (avaf)
and Mugler Creative Director and Lady Gaga Fashion Director, Nicola Formichetti, to create
Lady Gaga’s interpretation of the iconic Santa’s Workshop.

For the first time ever, Barneys New York will convert an entire floor of its Madison Avenue flagship
in New York City into a dedicated space for this holiday initiative. Working with the Barneys New York
team in collaboration with creative director Dennis Freedman, avaf has designed the interiors
and signature artwork for GAGA’S WORKSHOP, which will also be featured on
special holiday shopping bags and packaging.

In honor of this special project, Barneys New York is proud to donate 25% of sales from all items
featured in GAGA’S WORKSHOP to the Born This Way Foundation, recently launched by Lady Gaga.
The Born This Way Foundation will focus on youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues
such as self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring, and career development –
and will utilize digital mobilization as one means to create positive change.

Edge of Glory base is a black creme, opaque in one coat, but this was done in two coats, no top coat.


Edge of Glory holographic top coat is a mix of blue, orange, green, red flakies.



I know a lot of you are thinking that $45 for these two is crazy, but you know it was for a good cause, and I'm happy with the polishes, so it's a win-win situation! There may or may not be a dupe coming out from Finger Paints Special Effects, if I ever get my hands on them, I will do a comparison for you guys!

Deborah Lippmann Barney Exclusives

Today I have Deborah Lippmann's Money Now Sleep Later and The Future Is Yours, which are exclusives to Barneys. I didn't even know this even existed if I wasn't browsing around for the Edge of Glory holographic polish (which will be reviewed soon).


Money Now Sleep Later is a duochrome of teal aqua and purple with a slight metallic finish. 3 coats.

Money Now Sleep Later reminded me of Wicked Game but the teal and purple version!




This picture shows more of the duochrome, here you can see a slight green hint to the aqua color.


The Future Is Yours is a sheer duochrome of lavender and iredescent blue. 4 coats.

The Future Is Yours over black. Now that's amazing! Look at how the color just pops out over black. It's a little similar to Money Now Sleep Later with a more deep color.

Deborah Lippmann polishes always have good formula, this applied evenly. But since they have a slight metallic finish, there were visible brush strokes but that vanished a little after a top coat was added.

I love both of these and I thought it was worth every penny. The sad news is I don't see these on Barney's website anymore. I don't know if it's still available in stores, so if you do want this I hope it's still available in stores!

Deborah Lippmann Stormy Weather and Billionaire

Today I have two Deborah Lippmann from the Fall collection swatches to share. I had a gift card for Neiman Marcus so I decided to use it to buy nail polishes. I ordered these along with Get the Party Started collection.


Stormy Weather is a dark gray creme. 2 coats


Billionaire is a dark, almost blackened green. 2 coats

The formula for these were awesome. I've always loved Deborah Lippmann polishes, but just can't afford to buy them all, as they retail for $18 a bottle. There's nothing special about these two colors, but I don't know why, I still love them. Billionaire happens to be my favorite. No surprise right there. I don't think there's any greens I don't like!

I really want to try the Footloose collection from hsn.com but I'm gonna wait! I need to spend less right now because I'm working less hours and making less =x

Deborah Lippmann Get This Party Started Set Swatches & Review

Today I finally have the set from Deborah Lippmann called Get This Party Started. I know this set came out like months ago, but I finally got the chance to do some swatches on it. This set contains three polishes, one is the popular glitter polish Happy Birthday, along with one pink with multicolored glitters, and a black with multicolored glitters. Let's take a look.


Happy Birthday is obviously should be worn as a top coat since it's not full coverage. This was three coats. I've read that there are differences between the new Happy Birthday and the old Happy Birthday. The only big difference is that the old Happy Birthday has tiny square multicolored glitters and the new ones have tiny round multicolored glitters. I know you can barely tell if you just take a glance.


Candy Shop is a sheer bubble gum pink creme packed with Happy Birthday glitters. 3 coats. I love the finish of this. I love how the glitters look like its stuck inside the polish trying to escape. I've seen a lot of ladies franken this polish because well it's pretty easy and simple. You actually don't even have to franken it. You can easily apply a pink base coat and a coat of multicolored glitters and apply two coats of sheer pink over it. The finish is quite similar.


Forget You (I see you driving around town with the guy I love and I'm like...forget youuuu) anyways Forget You is a sheer black creme with Happy Birthday glitters. 3 coats. This one was a so-so for me. Don't love it but don't hate it as well. This one looks like Happy Birthday is applied OVER a black creme, which makes it not so special compared to the Candy Shop.

The formula for these were a little hard to work with since we are dealing with so many glitters. It's hard to get the glitters to stay put, especially near the edges. I hate having to file down my nails because the glitters are perked out and cutting me. They were a little thick, again that's because we're dealing with so much glitters.

Overall, I was satisfied with this set. I just wished they included another color mixed with Happy Birthday instead of putting a bottle of Happy Birthday to the set. Like maybe a green one, just saying! Other than that, I have no complaints!

Deborah Lippmann Yellow Brick Road

Hi! I hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend. I sure did! It was great to just relax with my mom and spending time with her (since she always complain I don't spend time with her) But anyways today I have Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road to share with you guys.


Yellow Brick Road is a sheer yellow jelly. This was done in four coats if you wanted full coverage. There is still visible nail line but most jelly finishes are like that and I'm totally fine with it.

I absolutely love jellies, therefore this one was a must for me. The formula was excellent. It wasn't streaky and applied perfectly with no fuss. Most people would complain about it being four coats. Some people don't have the patience for it, but I think it's worth the time spent because this turned out to look pretty gorgeous to me.

Yellow seems to be a trend for Summer nails. This would be the first yellow jelly I have (and so far no dupes as of yet)

Deborah Lippmann Waking Up in Vegas

So while going through my stash, I found out I have Deborah Lippmann's Waking Up in Vegas and I never tried it yet. I must have accidentally put it away without knowing.


Waking Up in Vegas is a gray beige creme that is very pigmented. It had full coverage within one coat, but I did 2 coats on this.

I am a lover for these type of colors, therefore I really liked this one. My picture shows more gray than beige, but in person you see the gray beige on it. The formula was good, it wasn't thick or thin, but in between. It applied smoothly with no application problems whatsoever.

And now Katy Perry's song "Waking Up in Vegas" is stuck in my head. Great..! Haha I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, enjoy it while it's still here :) And don't forget to enter my Spring Cleaning giveaway! There's 3 weeks left. Details on left sidebar.

Deborah Lippmann for Spring 2011

When I saw the press release for Deborah Lippmann's spring collection, I knew I gotta get them in my hands. Deborah Lippmann came out with two new colors for the spring.

Take a look:


Glitter in the Air is a sheer pale blue jelly like base with sky blue and pink hexagon glitters. How stunning is this one?! I'm in love with it. It's very sheer, this was under five coats and there's still visible nail lines. I still like the way it looks though. It gives off this ghostly like feel to it. This would probably look nice under a sky blue creme, guess I will try that next time.



Naked is a nude creme with a semi-jelly base. I have a lot of nude polishes but I think this one might be my favorite. It matches my skin tone very well. This was under three coats.

The formula for both of these are pretty good. I didn't have any problems with it. It dried pretty fast too. For Glitter in the Air, with 5 coats, it dried under a decent amount of time.

I absolutely love Glitter in the Air, couldn't stop staring at my nails while wearing them :)

Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance & Across The Universe

Ahh, Deborah Lippmann did it again with the sequin glitters and all that. I loved the All That Jazz collection, and all the other sequin glitter polishes Lippmann has out. Can never get enough :)


Bad Romance - black jelly base with fuchsia glitters. 3 coats. Very pretty.


Across The Universe - dark blue base with blue/green glitters. 2 coats. LOVE!

Formulas for these were pretty good. No troubles, only had troubles with getting some sequins on the nails, but that's not biggie. It was a bit hard for me to remove though. Sigh, but I guess must suffer the consequences of having super glittery polishes.

So what do you guys think of these two? Worth the price? Will you be getting these?

Lippmann Collection 'All That Jazz' Color Trio (Nordstrom Exclusive)

Hey guys, I'm up early because I'm going on a "mini vacation" for four days. So I decided to do a quick update while waiting for my boyfriend. I have the Lippmann Collection All The Jazz from Nordstrom.

This collection was a huge improvement compared to their previous one, in which I even forgot the name (Ruby Red Slippers was in it). Because I loved all three of them!

Here they are:


Razzle Dazzle - raspberry jelly base with raspberry glitters. 2 coats. Sorry for the blurry pic but my camera was running on low battery when I took this. I was too lazy to charge -_-


Lady Sings the Blues - dark navy blue base with silver/blue glitters and hex glitters. 3 coats. I love how the blue hex shows even with the dark base.



Some Enchanted Evening - a clear base with salmon pink glitters and hex. 2 coats. I decided to layer this over white (RBL's Underwear) to give it a more "softer" look. I like how it turned out. :)

A whole lot of randoms

Hey guys. Anyone else suffering from allergies? My head is pounding, my nose feels like it's about to fall off, and my eyes are so irritated that I need to put neosporin on the skin surrounding my eyes. This is brutal! Not even medicine is working and I hate it :(

I decided to just put a whole lot of randomness into this one single post because I have way too many pictures backed up. Before I go on, I must say the pictures aren't the greatest so please forgive me :)


OPI Give Me the Moon - pale silvery blue with slight iridescence. Three coats.


Misa Sorry Can't Help It - medium purple creme. Three coats


Lippmann Collection Call Me Irresponsible - purple jelly. A little sheer, 3 coats.


Sally Hansen Purple Pizazz - Purple with pinkish gold hints of glitter. Three coats


Orly Wild Wisteria - dark purple creme with blue hint. Sorry this picture was taken in flash, I could've sworn I took a picture of it with artificial lights but I can't seem to find it..


OPI Bubble Bath - a milky white with slight pink creme. Three coats


Milani Totally 80s - a yellow-green neon. Three coats. Gorgeous!


Milani Hot Pink - a dark hot pink with gold micro-glitters. Three coats.


Milani Fresh Teal - a neon teal. Three coats. (CON- stained the crap out of my nails)


Color Club Fashion Addict - silver purple holo. Three coats.

So majority of these are oldies but also some new ones.

I'm so excited to for the OPI Shrek Forever After Collection and the Essie Resort collection. Ah nail polish, why do I have such love towards thee?

Lippmann Collection Don't Tell Mama

Hello fellow nail polish lovers! Today I have for you guys Lippmann Collection's Don't Tell Mama. A very vampy green with green micro-glitter shimmers. First picture was taken with no sun because of all these gloomy days -_- But in that picture you can see how dark the green is and the slight green micro-glitters. Second picture taken under fluorescent lights to see more of the greens. Done under two coats with a top coat.

Lippmann Holiday Collection & My first GIVEAWAY!

Hey all! Today I have the Lippmann Holiday Collection featuring two nail lacquers called Wicked Game and Happy Birthday!

First off, wicked game. A green, purple, silver, brown? duochrome. The duochrome is shown on the bottle but is moderately shown on the nails. A little sheer, three coats and I can still see thru my nails in the light. But I was fine with that.




I was able to capture the green.


And here's in low light in my attempt to show all the colors. Fail.

Next up is HAPPY BIRTHDAY!


Clear base with multicolored, multi-sized glitters. Ooo more glitters. I didn't want to get this at first but I was tempted, and I finally gave in. Definitely not worth $18 in my opinion but what the heck. I'm glad I got it I guess?

Lippmann Collection Celebrate 10th Anniversary Set

The Lippmann Collection available at nordstrom.com for $35.00 celebrates their 10th anniversary with three colors:

Funky Chunky - sequined sheer black
Superstar - show stopping copper flecked fudge
Ruby Red Slippers - Dorothy's shimmering ruby





Funky Chunky - I took a pic of this in flash to show the sheerness. This was a huge disappointment for the collection. I tried so hard to get some sequins on my nails but failed. This was done four coats. Yuck!





Superstar - HELLO GLITTER!! Gorgeous shade. My reason for taking this in flash is because well I got home from work and couldn't wait to put on a new color. The sun was already setting so I couldn't capture the beautiful color.



Ruby Red Slippers - My favorite! I love this color a lot! It looks stunning in person. I love how the red sequins makes it pop out even more! Love it.

Sure this collection wasn't worth $35. Funky Chunky was a big failure, no offense to Lippmann Collection. I mean I've seen swatches done by other nail bloggers and they really do look like a nightmare manicure. At least Ruby Red Slippers and Superstar makes up the bad Funky Chunky!

Matte American Manicure / Future Swatches

So I've been dealing with an American manicure for the past 4 weeks. Just one more week to go and I will be able to do all these crazy swatching. I received more goodies in the mail. I've decide to try matte on the American manicure. I have yet to see one, and I'm curious as to how it will look like. And I must say.. it looks.... interesting?




I've use the same polishes I used last time; Essie Mademoiselle as base, Essie Marshmellow for tips, and Essie Pink Glove Service as top coat. This is the neatest manicure I have ever done.


And here it is in matte. It looks kind of "ghostly" if you understand what I'm saying. But it's quite unique in a way. I don't know..what do you guys think?

Essie Ruby Slippers and Viva La Vespa

As much as I don't want to admit, I bought these off eBay. Once I saw it, I gotta have it. I didn't have to pay a lot extra for these. They were at a decent price (Ruby Slippers was $15, and Viva La Vespa was $13). I mean I spent $23 on designer nail polishes that I will probably never wear again, so why not spend a tad extra on polishes I REALLY want and know I will wear again, agree?

Now, I will complete my goal if I can get my hands Essie Starry Starry Night. I really hope Essie will re-release it again, but I highly doubt it.
