BB Couture Vampy Varnish Collection 2009

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Yes I am showing a 2009 collection that I finally get to try lol

BB Couture teamed up with Kelly from Vampy Varnish to create six gorgeous shades for the Fall last year. Although I took crappy pictures for this collection, I can assure you my pictures does no justice for this collection. The colors are gorgeous in person.

Redwood Forest a dark forest green with silver flecks

Mendocino Midnight a gray base green with silver flecks

Vampy Varnish a blackish green base with tons of green glitters

Kelly's Green

Napa Valley Red a bloody red with red flecks

Union Square a silver brown with semi-metallic finish

My favorites happens to be Kelly's Green, Redwood Forest, and Vampy Varnish. Not only because they're green but they're gorgeous unique greens. I don't think I have any polish similar to those three :)

That is all I have for today!

BB Couture Greens

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, October 3, 2010

Today I have a few BB Couture Greens to show you. One of the many reasons why I love BB Couture is that they have so many different variety of greens that it just fulfills all us green lovers needs. Aside from the new collections, I think I own every single green from BB Couture :)

Below are four BB Couture Greens for men, and two for women.

Fuel Injector - a medium kelly green with silver and gold shimmer. You can't really see the gold shimmer from my picture, but trust me it's there.

Pipe Bender - deep forest green with hints of blue/purple shimmer. Sort of like a weak duochrome. But this is a polish you need to see in person. It's amazing.

Grenade - a very deep olive green with gold shimmer.

Universal Joint - a medium olive green with gold shimmer and hints of pink flash.

Studio 54 - a bright green with tons of multi-colored shimmers

Saturday Night Fever - a vampy green packed with gold and green shimmers. I love this one!

And that is all I have for today, I gotta start getting ready for class :(

Readers Request: Chanel Paradoxal vs BB Couture Incognito

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, October 2, 2010

I have a few readers asking me to do a comparison for Chanel Paradoxal and BB Couture Incognito. They are not a dupe of a each other but definitely like distant cousins of each other.

As you can see in the bottle, Paradoxal is more of a purple taupe base while Incognito is a grey base, though they both do have a similar purple hint of shimmer.

Paradoxal's hint of purple shimmer is more noticeable than Incognito

Index and Ring: Chanel Paradoxal
Middle and Pinky: BB Couture Incognito

You can see the difference of it. Paradoxal is more brown, and Ingonito is more blue base grey.

Here it is in flash to show you the purple shimmers.

Hope that helps :)

BB Couture "Regular Guys" and "The Formal" Collection

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, September 25, 2010

Taking a break from reading for tomorrow's class. Today I have two collections from BB Couture for men. The Regular Guys and The Formal Guys. I ordered these back in April. As you can tell from my recent posts, most of my polishes were from March-May lol. Well I finally got to them. This is my first time trying BB Couture for men. Same formulas as the women ones. Super smooth application and no troubles. This is why I love BB Couture. And not to mention, the excellent customer service from Kim of Overall Beauty!

Enough with the babbling, on with the swatches!

Regular Guys

Blue Collar - a periwinkle blue with white shimmer

Golf Pro - a swampy green with silver and greenish shimmer

Mariner - deep forest green shimmer. This was good with one coat, but I did two coats because this one is tricky in application as there are brush strokes. But after a top coat the brush strokes seems to disappear.

Coal Miner - hmm.. a dark gray taupe? with blue and pink flecks. This color is very hard to describe, though very attractive.

Cowboy - taupe creme with subtle shimmer

Bullfighter - bright red. This has a semi jelly base. I love it, and it is now my favorite red!

The Formal Collection

Incognito - grey base with pink, purple, and blue shimmer. Yummy!

Dress Rehearsal - greenish gray with some silver shimmer.

Dinner Jacket - beautiful blue shimmer with a hint of purple shimmer

Award Medal - gold based shimmer with flashes of olive green or purple in certain lights. I love this one.

Tuxedo Night - reminds of dark raspberry chocolate with red and gold glitters

Ceremony - I can honestly tell you I can't describe the colors. There's a mix of brown and green in it. I had problems with application for this one, it was a little streaky. And it was very hard to capture in picture. That's why this one is a picture of it with no direct sunlight. I still like it though!

And there you go, BB Couture Regular Guys and The Formal collection all shown here. What do you guys think of these two collections? I can say There's not a single polish I didn't like from these collections. They're all gorgeous! This is why I love BB Couture. I am saving up to buy the Infamous Lovers collections!

BB Couture Butt-Naked Bronze

Posted by Unknown on Friday, September 3, 2010

This is 3 coats of BB Couture Butt-Naked Bronze, a caramel colored shimmer polish. Nice color and great formula as expected from BB Couture. The boyfriend and I really hated this one on me! It looks good in the pictures though and would look lovely on dark skin tones!

Thanks for reading!

BB Couture Dragon's Breath

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, September 2, 2010

This is 3 coats of BB Couture Dragon's Breath. Man it's gorgeous! Dragon's Breath is the number one selling purple on Overall Beauty and I can see why. It's a very unique plum jelly with super fine silver glitter. Great formula too. I say this is a must have for any purple lover, maybe any polish lover period!

I won this polish from the lovely Audrey of Le Vernis Chocolat. Audrey sadly just announced that she will be leaving the blogging world for health reasons. Go wish this classy lady a fond farewell if you haven't already done so.

BB Couture Hands of Hope

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, July 10, 2010

Greetings! Today I have the BB Couture Hands of Hope Collection which 25% all sales were for the Red Cross for Haitian relief. It's no longer available and I know I'm very late on these swatches, but I thought I post them up since Overallbeauty.com did something great with these.

Tortuga Island - lime green shimmer. 3 coats

Paradise - beige creme with hints of shimmer. 3 coats

Labadie Beach - bright pink shimmer. 3 coats

Keyona Beach - minty blue creme. 3 coats

Cap-Haitian - lavender creme. 3 coats

Bassins Bleu - mint turquoise creme. 3 coats

Bassins Bleu 2 - sky blue creme. 3 coats

Bassins Bleu 2 was a limited edition when you purchase the Hands of Hope Collection.

This collection consists of very pretty colors, but not really unique so if you missed out on this collection it's ok. BB Couture is one of my favorite nail polishes, in which I do not mind emptying out my wallet for. Their application is great and that's most important to me.

So that is all I have for today, I hope everyone have a lovely weekend!

Soccer Nail Art

Posted by Unknown on Friday, July 2, 2010

I did these for a nail art contest over at Linnie's Favorites. I used BB Couture Poison Ivy for the grass, Konad plate M57 and Sally Hansen White Out for the net, and Migi Nail Art pens for the goal posts and the balls.
I decided to go with the traditional soccer ball pattern instead of the official World Cup 2010 Jabulani ball. The Jabulani just isn't very recognizable or interesting compared with the traditional pattern.
I love how these turned out! You can check out the other great entries and vote for your favorite here. I voted for Claudia!

A Few BB Coutures

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I won these along with Poison Ivy as part of an Earth Day BB Couture set. I love Poison Ivy, but unfortunately, I don't like any of these 3 brushstrokey frosts. I used 3 coats for each of them.

First we have BB Couture Espresso Dream which I would describe as a frosty, metallic tan.

There was a pretty little butterfly flitting around my garden while taking pictures of this one.

Next we have BB Couture Caramel Carma, a frosty metallic caramel.

Finally we have BB Couture Autumn Sunset, a rusty brown, frosty metallic. I thought I would like this one the most but it made me feel like a scary, mean, old lady! The kind that would play slots all day in Vegas with her hair all done up while she chain smokes menthols.

I put all three of them on my pinky and I like them together.

The formula was nice and BB Couture still has more colors that I want to own than any other company. These three frosty browns just don't do it for me though.

Thanks for reading!
