color club - age of aquarius & crush on you

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Hey everyone!

Today I'm going to show you 2 polishes that I got while on my trip to Ottawa and Montreal.
Technically I showed you these already in my vacation post, but I wanted to make another post to show them better.

Age of Aquarius is a bright turquoise creme. It is from the Poptastic collection, but it is not a part of the 7-piece set.

It's a 3-coater, and it is not exactly neon, but close. Very pretty color!
I wanted it for a long time, but was worried about it looking like all my other turquoise and teal polishes. I decided to get it anyway because I wouldn't have another chance at getting it in person.
But I could not find an exact match in my stash!

It is sort of in between Essie's Turquoise and Caicos and China Glaze Four Leaf Clover.

Now for the crackle!

This is Crush On You from the new Fractured collection. (Which also includes crackle polishes in black, white, silver, gold, and blue.)
Weirdly, now it seems the Fractured colors have changed and the pink and blue that are included are shimmery crackles. But the original release was with cremes. I don't know if this one is discontinued now or what.

I really like the way this polish crackles. The areas you see with the very fine crackles are thin spots, and then thick coats make big chunks. It doesn't "shred" into mostly long lines the way some of the OPI ones do.
It is semi-sheer and the color underneath does alter the color of the crackle as you can see.
In the manicure picture at the top of this post, you can see that it looks much darker and purple over the turquoise.

In the bottle, it is the exact same color as China Glaze Purple Panic.

Okay! There you have it. I'm hoping to maybe find some cheaper open stock of Color Club on my next trip! I paid $9 for each of these at a salon/beauty supply called Max and Co in Montreal, which is a lot for Color Club.
I leave for Toronto in just under 3 weeks! :)
