Today I've got China Glaze's Life Preserver to show you! LP is from the Anchors Away collection released earlier this year.
This photographed really bright for some reason. I tried to bring it down to how muted it really is. It's a great shade for Summer and Spring.
I had no complaints with the formula, really nice typical China Glaze. Two coats shown here.
I also have Ahoy to show you but I haven't tried it yet! It looks so pretty in the bottle though. I'll make it my next manicure!
I'm on holidays soon, so I'll have heaps to show you shortly!

Quite possibly my new favourite polish. Or... coming a close second behind Who The Shrek Are You. This is Skull and Glossbones from OPI's Pirate's of the Caribbean collection.
I'm not all too sure on what to call this colour. It's a bit grey, it's a bit beige, even a nude! Maybe? Not 100% sure what it is, but I like it. I did need three coats but I think like Mermaids Tears and Steady As She Rose, I applied the coats too thinly which started to pull off colour from undernieth. They are pastels and they are a little bit chalky.
I'm seriously thinking Skulls is back-up material.

I finally have the Internet back and it's uploading my photos no problem now :) Today I have Steady As She Rose from OPI's Pirate's of the Caribbean collection. A very sweet and delicate pink creme.
I just love this. It's not an overly yellow or blue pink, it's just right. It does have that dusty quality to it like the rest of the collection which makes it just that much nicer.
I did need three coats however. I think I was using the polish to thin though, it seemed to to work better when I used thicker coats. I've got loads of polishes ready to post for you, so keep checking back!

Mermaid's Tears is from OPI's Pirate's of the Caribbean collection. I only picked up four out of seven; Mermaid's Tears, Steady as She Rose, Skulls & Glossbones and the silver shatter. I am just smitten with all of them!
I didn't really like the other three that much. Sparrow Me The Drama and Planks A Lot seemed to be brighter than the rest, and Stranger Tides just looked weird against my skin.
Here I am wearing two coats. Lovely coverage with Mermaid's Tears, very nice formula as well.
This colour took me back to when Peppermint Patti was a big thing and everybody started doing minty greens and blues. Mermaid's Tears, like the rest of the collection, has a dusty quality to it. So it's a lot greyer than most mint greens. However! The OPI display I looked at was right beside Orly's new lot, Precious. Ancient Jade looked to be just a smidgen off of being a complete duplicate.
Mermaid's Tears is one of my new favourites. I just love all the colours being released at the moment.

Oh my gosh I have been trying to post this for days! But blogger keeps freezing on me. Today it finally it let me upload the photos :D
I was humming and harring for quite a while, trying to decide whether to get Nice is Nice or Lilacism.
Nice is Nice definitely has more red in it, making it more violet where as Lilacism has the blue in it making it lavender.
I am thinking maybe I should have gone with Lilacism. I think Nice is Nice is too pink for my liking. It reminded me of three other polishes I have which I have pictured at the end of the post. OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, OPI Panda-monium Pink and Orly Lollipop. Nice is Nice definitely has that little bit more purple/blue in it compared to those three though but they are definitely all from the same family. I didn't have any issues with the formula. Just typical Essie. I used two coats here, fairly good coverage all though it could go streaky if you do your coats too thin.
I absolutely adore the colour but I am not sure if it is right for my colourings.

I apologise for being away for so long! I am having the most hectic time at the moment. First off, my first assignment at Uni was to find a deeper meaning to five different walls. WALLS. That was a mission and a half!
I got help from my mum with that so I was staying with my family that weekend, and we have been training each day for the Round The Bays event. It's a 8km run or walk. After doing that for almost 2 hours, we get back to the car and it has been broken into! My backpack that had all my clothes (had gone on a big shopping spree the day before), wallet, phone, camera etc. in it, gone! My mum's bag was also taken. And the thieves have managed to spend about $1800 off her credit card! The idiots shopped in store though so they've been caught on security cameras.
It was strange though because my mums friend came with us and her bag was untouched in the front seat. Also the thieves were kind enough to leave me my wall assignment and a pair of jandals. They were in the back of the car. I just can't get my head around a person who sees a school bag and an old camping bag and thinks that there will be something valuable in there...
Apparently a couple of older ladies saw the whole thing, they said they even tried to take off with the car (they ended up taking someone elses) but these ladies thought they would report it to the police after they've gone to see the Round The Bays race! I mean, if you saw this from your house, wouldn't your first reaction be to ring the police?!
Just to top it all off I've managed to catch a cold in Summer. So sorry for the rant but I've been thinking about this whole situation non-stop for days. I just don't get how anyone can think it's ok to take someone else's treasured items like that. I am so sorry for the rant! I really just had to get it off my chest :)

Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em
This is such a beautiful shade of watermelon crossed with strawberry. It looks like juice on your nails! I really love this one. It is definitely more red and yellow toned than Do You Think I'm Tex-y. Two coats as with all the other polishes in this collection.

Seriously hard to choose a fave in this collection, but I think Texy has to be it! A beautiful blue toned fuchsia jelly. Still loving this jelly lot. Only two coats needed just like Hold 'Em :) I am trying to get Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear and Houston We Have a Purple.

Here we have I Believe In Amour and Hot Couture from Color Club's Pardon My French collection.
I wasn't actually too fond of this one, I just can't get my head around bubblegum pinks. I don't know what it is, I just don't like them.
My photos here are in direct sunlight so the colour is washed out a little bit. I think the last photo shows it's true colour most.
The formula, not to fussed, usually Color Clubs are great but for me this polish was a little bit streaky. So it didn't really give me a nice finish. Maybe it was the base coat I used? Not really too sure. I used three coats here.
I Believe In Amour is definitely a yellow toned pink creme.
Hot Couture is a cherry pink glitter. It doesn't add to much of a tint to other colours so it is quite good for layering. As with pretty much all glitters, you can use as many layers as you like.

My goodness it's March already! That means I am almost 20! I remember when I mentioned that I turned 18 on NJ.... It's kind of hard to comprehend that NJ has been around that long! :O....
The corals in this collection are amazing! Mum had bought both of the corals; Big Hair...Big Nails and Guy Meets Gal-Veston. She only ended up keeping Gal-veston though as Big Hair has more of an orange tone, and that didn't suit her as nicely as the redder more watermelony tones in Gal-veston.

Big Hair... Big Nails:
My sister ended up getting this one from my mum as it is the orange-r one out of the two. It looks really nice on her too, like watermelon crossed with strawberry juice. It's sort of a jelly version of Cajun Shrimp, it has that nice punch to it.
So as with all the jellies in the Texas collection, two coats are sufficient and you will still see your nail lines. On a side note, how do you get/have "big nails"? The mind boggles.
Guy Meets Gal-Veston:
This is the redder one of the two corals, even though it is really easy to get these two mixed up. They are pretty close. I don't know why OPI released two coral jellies and two pink jellies. Only minor differences.
Not really much to say about Gal-Veston other than it's just as beautiful as all the other jellies in the collection. I am still really happy with the Texas lot. They have the best formula I have come across yet.

First I have the two Greys to show you from OPI's Texas collection. Both of them are such great colours. I could not find fault with either.Totally Fort Worth It:It doesn't look as cool on the nail as it does in the bottle, until you're under artificial light.
In the sunlight Fort Worth looks like a... soft silver? Is that possible? It gets quite reflective, but not as much as a chrome polish. OPI calls this a lavender.... Erm...
Sadly though all of the pink shimmer and glitter vanishes in natural light. Even in the shade outside it hides. It looks really beautiful inside though.
I used three coats here, but two could easily do the trick. I managed to ding this manicure so I just wanted to even it out.
I Vant To Be A-Lone Star:I really wanted to buy this one when I first saw the collection, but I was limited to two only. I even saw a girl wearing this shade on the bus and it just looked so delicate on her, I had to get it!
Luckily mum had bought a few Texans and this was one of them, she wasn't too keen on it as it is quite close to Essie's Sag Harbor. Sag Harbor is just a touch darker, but otherwise, definitely sisters.
You only need two coats with A-Lone Star as well. Wonderful coverage.
I am usually not too fussed on the frost finish, but when it's a dove grey, how can one resist?
Overall I am so pleased with these two colours, very cute and a nice change for Spring/Summer.

Another lip post :)
This is Mehr from MAC's Mickey Contractor collection that was released a couple of weeks ago. I had high hopes for Gulabi too, but it didn't wow me as much as Mehr.
Mehr is a really pretty natural looking pink. It is quite opaque once you put it on. I always like to wear a basic balm underneath as it is a Matte lipstick, so it can dry you out or make your lips look dry.
It looks really great with the lipglass Lust. Lust is sort of like the glossy version.

I had completely forgotten that the Texas collection was released earlier this week, until my mum rang me today and asked what I thought of them. I got ready as fast as I could and went running down to the nearest store, they still had the Swiss collection, boring, tried the next store and they had loads of the new ones!
They also only had one Texas pamphlet out, I hope I was allowed to take that.
My boyfriend helped me pick out two colours as I recently have been offered a place in a Interior Design course! I am so excited about it because I never received university entrance from school, so I thought my diploma/bachelor study days were doomed. It starts in two weeks, can't wait to go stationery shopping! What should I wear on my nails?! :O
Back to the topic, I really love the look of the Texas colours. It was so hard just to choose two. I really like the look of I Vant To Be A-Lone Star but I was only limited to picking two. By chance, my mum had picked up this shade and doesn't really want it as she thinks it is too close to Essie's Sag Harbor for her to own both.
I haven't tried them yet as I've been pretty busy. Suzi Loves Cowboys is a delectable chocolate brown and Do You Think I'm Tex-y is a gorgeous blue-toned fuchsia jelly. I really love the names in this collection! Especially Houston We Have a Purple.
I will have swatches up of these very shortly along with a sketch that this collection inspired me to draw. :)
NOTE: I used the flash here, so the colours look lighter and brighter than they really are. Tex-y almost looks radioactive here, it does not in real life.
