Color Club Back To Boho Collection

This is the darker half of Color Club's Back to Boho collection, released for Fall/Autumn 2011. Boho chic is a cross between bohemian and hippy fashion, in a nutshell. Back To Boho offers you a whole Autumn/Fall nail wardrobe of vintage shades.

Left to right: Speedy Top Coat, Blue-topia, Voodoo You Do, Boho Mojo, Artsy Crafty, Nouveau Vintage and Rebel Spirit.

Boho Mojo

This reminds me of those beautifully designed art nouveau silver mirrors. I am not sure if it is what I was using as a base or not, but Boho Mojo was really watery. This is three thin coats shown here.

Nouveau Vintage

This is one of the most bizarre polishes I have come across! It's brown but green but gold but bronze...all in a sheer maroon base! This really is the image of vintage though, isn't it? It reminds me of old wooden furniture with brass hinges and handles.

Voodoo You Do

A deep gunmetal grey shimmer/frost. To me this gunmetal grey leans a little on the teal or green side of things. I feel like it was pulling my red, yet very subtle lobster tones out.

Artsy Crafty

Artsy Crafty is a great bottle green creme. Such a classy looking nail polish! Mum snagged this one as soon as she sore it! She decided to get rid of OPI Jade is the New Black because she loved this one so much more. Really smooth formula.

Rebel Spirit

When I had first tried this on at night, I thought my dreams had come true! A dark charcoal jelly! But when I tried it again in the day time, it was more of a really dark charcoal chocolate and not so jelly. It is very shiny though! I still like it. Nice smooth formula here too.

Blue-topia

Blue-topia is a very vivid navy. It does dry a lot darker than when first applied. Mum tried it on after me and we couldn't believe we were wearing the same colour! Just a nice rich deep blue navy jelly.

Speedy Top Coat

I cannot express in words how blown away I am by this top coat! But I will try. We've all tried heaps and heaps of top coats and as the days go by you get weary of having to try something new. After trying Essie's assorted embarrassments called top coats, I didn't have high hopes for Speedy. 


But as my manicure dried and the day went on, the mind blowing just got better and better! It dries really quickly, doesn't let any denting happen, no sheet marks the morning you wake up... I'm really pleased with it. I have even chosen it over Seche Vite many times.

Jessica Shopping on Rodeo

Today we have Jessica's Shopping on Rodeo. This was picked up by my mum at the beauty expo. I haven't really seen Jessica around really. The guys running the business didn't seem to keen on keeping Jessica going. It's a shame because the polishes are really pretty and have a great formula.

Rodeo could be a one coater. It so could be. I only did two because I couldn't get my shaping right on the first go. The formula is something else. It is to die for. Amazing coverage, so smooth and easy to maneuver.


I did a manicure for mum not too long ago and she let me choose the colour, I chose Shopping on Rodeo. I don't think I have ever done a manicure that quick before. It was amazing!

Rodeo freaked out my camera a little bit. It is a bright fuchsia pink with an even brighter frost, along with scattered silver glitter. I didn't think the sparkles were going to work but they are a nice little surprise. Rodeo glows, radiates, illuminates... under any light source too.

Mum has two more Jessicas for me to review, so keep an eye out :)

OPI Curry Up! Don't Be Late

Curry Up! Don't Be Late is from OPI's Summer collection, India, from 2008. The India collection is my absolute favourite that OPI has done. This was right when I was getting into nail polish. You could say Curry Up was one of my first loves!

I think this is my original bottle that I bought in 2008, although my sister is now the proud owner of it (she has been for sometime now). It looks amazing on toes in the summer time! Well, any time really.

My sister kindly let me swatch this, usually she only lets mum and I swatch on one finger lol, so I am very privileged!


The formula of Curry Up could be better, it's a little bit runny and does need a bit of care applying. It is also a little bit streaky but that seems to dissipate once a top coat is applied.

I still love Curry Up to bits, I really should get a bottle of my own. It is a stunning gold polish. I hope OPI brings something out quite similar but with a better formula. I shall remain hopeful.

Bonus Cat Photo!

This is my cat, Bells (Bella). For some reason, she was following me around all day, I fed her breakfast and everything but she kept following me around sitting next to me. I wasn't too sure what she wanted from me... Usually she's very 'vocal' and lets you know what she wants. She still has her flash collar though, it's silver with diamantes all around it :)

Color Club Nothing But Truffle

This is Nothing But Truffle from Color Club's Untamed Luxury Indulgence collection.

This was also quite a favourite, a nice alternative to Jewel of a Girl if deep purples aren't your thing. Great formula, just like the others, nice thickness but super smooth to use. I used two coats here. 


Truffle reminds me a little bit of Zoya Kalista but it doesn't seem to be as red. What's also a nice little surprise in this one is the gold shimmer. You can't really see it in my photo here because of the flash but it just adds that little touch of richness to Nothing But Truffle.

Color Club Pretty in Platinum

Adding to the Untamed Luxury Indulgence collection we have Pretty in Platinum.

I'm not usually one for pearly/frosty whites but the formula on this one definitely helped. It was consistent with the most of the collection, they have that nice thickness to them.

I used two coats here. I'm not too sure if I'll wear this one too often, pearly whites remind me of wedding dresses and the event associated with them. I think this'd look amazing with a shatter over the top.

OPI Texas: Totally Fort Worth It & I Vant To Be A-Lone Star

First I have the two Greys to show you from OPI's Texas collection. Both of them are such great colours. I could not find fault with either.

Totally Fort Worth It:
It doesn't look as cool on the nail as it does in the bottle, until you're under artificial light. 


In the sunlight Fort Worth looks like a... soft silver? Is that possible? It gets quite reflective, but not as much as a chrome polish. OPI calls this a lavender.... Erm...


Sadly though all of the pink shimmer and glitter vanishes in natural light. Even in the shade outside it hides. It looks really beautiful inside though.


I used three coats here, but two could easily do the trick. I managed to ding this manicure so I just wanted to even it out.

I Vant To Be A-Lone Star:
I really wanted to buy this one when I first saw the collection, but I was limited to two only. I even saw a girl wearing this shade on the bus and it just looked so delicate on her, I had to get it!


Luckily mum had bought a few Texans and this was one of them, she wasn't too keen on it as it is quite close to Essie's Sag Harbor. Sag Harbor is just a touch darker, but otherwise, definitely sisters.


You only need two coats with A-Lone Star as well. Wonderful coverage.


I am usually not too fussed on the frost finish, but when it's a dove grey, how can one resist? 


Overall I am so pleased with these two colours, very cute and a nice change for Spring/Summer.

Chanel Les Pops Collection

I am pretty sure almost everyone fell in love at first sight with the promo pictures of these beauties. 

The Les Pops collection is now available in New Zealand and retail for $46 each. I got my lot a little early so I can't give you a release date sorry.

I wasn't really hyped about this one as I am sure I have something close to this shade. Mum fell in love with it though so luckily I was allowed to share it with you :) Two coats here, almost perfect coverage in first coat. Beautiful formula. Not as blue or deep as Splendeur incase you are wondering.

Mistral

I only got Mistral and Nouvelle, but I wore this one straight away. It looks so cute in the bottle. But you do lose the glitter a little once you apply it to your nails. Mistral is a very soft, delicate, feminine shade. I like it. three coats here, it's a little more sheer than the other two.

Nouvelle Vague

My absolute favourite. It just looks so smooth and... frothy? lol I don't know, it reminds me of Goody Goody Gumdrop ice cream. Two coats here. The formula is honestly the best I have ever come across. Ever.

I absolutely love this collection, it's just so... cute and ice creamy. I am really glad I got them, these are limited so don't mess around if you want one or two! :)
