Look how promising it looks in the bottle! A deep fuchsia with pretty purple shimmer. Sadly this polish missed the mark completely.
Congeniality Is My Middle Name was a disappointment from the start. I wish I had picked up on the red flags earlier. Firstly, the shimmer had completely settled to the bottom, in every bottle I saw. Being optimistic, I saw shaking it not an issue. So I shook it for a good few minutes. It looked really pretty.
We bought a couple of bottles, even one for a giveaway, but when we got home, the shimmer had completely settled to the bottom again. This was in the space of less than an hour. I thought maybe I hadn't shook it enough, so I shook it up again for another few minutes. Only to have it fully sink again within 30 minutes.
Maybe this polish just really doesn't work with my colourings or something. A super red fuchsia base with blue shimmer. Two polar opposite colors stuck together. To me this just didn't work, the contrast was too harsh. Maybe it just isn't my thing, I'm not too sure. I haven't been this disappointed in a nail polish for a long time.
Congeniality Is My Middle Name was also released along with Crown Me Already in the Miss Universe collection earlier this year. This collection wasn't released in New Zealand.
Every time I pick this polish up the shimmer has completely settled to the bottom. I'm sorry OPI but I'm not too keen on shaking a polish for a good five minutes each time I want to use it.

Awhile ago I was looking for a fuchsia polish that had a bit of a plum base to it. I also really wanted to wear Ahoy but wanted to darken it down a little bit. The solution? Orly's It's On The List.
To achieve this I started with a layer of Ahoy followed by It's On The List, topped with another coat of Ahoy. It was so sparkly! In some lights you could see all that Ahoy has to offer and in others you could see the pretty glitter from IOTL shining through.
I was really pleased with how this turned out. I think I wore a dress that had flowers the same colour on it. Really nice.

I absolutely love Tex-y. A fuchsia jelly that looks brilliant with anything layered between it! And NfuOh 59 is just such a versatile polish. I love that one too.
For this manicure I did a layer of NFuOh 59, Texy, 59 and then Texy.
Thanks to my camera, you cannot see all the flakie goodness that this manicure provided. I am seriously thinking of parting ways with this camera. Although we've been a great team for four years, it just ain't performing 100%.
You can kinda see a glimmer of flakie in this shot.
Side note: I've been quite busy at Uni lately but I have a couple of manicures to show you, I just have to sit down and actually work on the posts. Uni has got us having our own Interior Design blogs, so i've been kind of working on that blog more recently... The only hard part with this course I find is the conceptual thinking. I just don't understand how some of the links they make are actual links. Who knew a bookshelf could have such a deep connection to the universe?
Hoping a miracle of some sort will happen and I will be able to understand what they're on about.

Today we have Jessica's Shopping on Rodeo. This was picked up by my mum at the beauty expo. I haven't really seen Jessica around really. The guys running the business didn't seem to keen on keeping Jessica going. It's a shame because the polishes are really pretty and have a great formula.
Rodeo could be a one coater. It so could be. I only did two because I couldn't get my shaping right on the first go. The formula is something else. It is to die for. Amazing coverage, so smooth and easy to maneuver.
I did a manicure for mum not too long ago and she let me choose the colour, I chose Shopping on Rodeo. I don't think I have ever done a manicure that quick before. It was amazing!
Rodeo freaked out my camera a little bit. It is a bright fuchsia pink with an even brighter frost, along with scattered silver glitter. I didn't think the sparkles were going to work but they are a nice little surprise. Rodeo glows, radiates, illuminates... under any light source too.
Mum has two more Jessicas for me to review, so keep an eye out :)

I apologise for being away for so long! I am having the most hectic time at the moment. First off, my first assignment at Uni was to find a deeper meaning to five different walls. WALLS. That was a mission and a half!
I got help from my mum with that so I was staying with my family that weekend, and we have been training each day for the Round The Bays event. It's a 8km run or walk. After doing that for almost 2 hours, we get back to the car and it has been broken into! My backpack that had all my clothes (had gone on a big shopping spree the day before), wallet, phone, camera etc. in it, gone! My mum's bag was also taken. And the thieves have managed to spend about $1800 off her credit card! The idiots shopped in store though so they've been caught on security cameras.
It was strange though because my mums friend came with us and her bag was untouched in the front seat. Also the thieves were kind enough to leave me my wall assignment and a pair of jandals. They were in the back of the car. I just can't get my head around a person who sees a school bag and an old camping bag and thinks that there will be something valuable in there...
Apparently a couple of older ladies saw the whole thing, they said they even tried to take off with the car (they ended up taking someone elses) but these ladies thought they would report it to the police after they've gone to see the Round The Bays race! I mean, if you saw this from your house, wouldn't your first reaction be to ring the police?!
Just to top it all off I've managed to catch a cold in Summer. So sorry for the rant but I've been thinking about this whole situation non-stop for days. I just don't get how anyone can think it's ok to take someone else's treasured items like that. I am so sorry for the rant! I really just had to get it off my chest :)

Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em
This is such a beautiful shade of watermelon crossed with strawberry. It looks like juice on your nails! I really love this one. It is definitely more red and yellow toned than Do You Think I'm Tex-y. Two coats as with all the other polishes in this collection.
Do You Think I'm Tex-y?
Seriously hard to choose a fave in this collection, but I think Texy has to be it! A beautiful blue toned fuchsia jelly. Still loving this jelly lot. Only two coats needed just like Hold 'Em :) I am trying to get Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear and Houston We Have a Purple.

I had completely forgotten that the Texas collection was released earlier this week, until my mum rang me today and asked what I thought of them. I got ready as fast as I could and went running down to the nearest store, they still had the Swiss collection, boring, tried the next store and they had loads of the new ones!
They also only had one Texas pamphlet out, I hope I was allowed to take that.
My boyfriend helped me pick out two colours as I recently have been offered a place in a Interior Design course! I am so excited about it because I never received university entrance from school, so I thought my diploma/bachelor study days were doomed. It starts in two weeks, can't wait to go stationery shopping! What should I wear on my nails?! :O
Back to the topic, I really love the look of the Texas colours. It was so hard just to choose two. I really like the look of I Vant To Be A-Lone Star but I was only limited to picking two. By chance, my mum had picked up this shade and doesn't really want it as she thinks it is too close to Essie's Sag Harbor for her to own both.
I haven't tried them yet as I've been pretty busy. Suzi Loves Cowboys is a delectable chocolate brown and Do You Think I'm Tex-y is a gorgeous blue-toned fuchsia jelly. I really love the names in this collection! Especially Houston We Have a Purple.
I will have swatches up of these very shortly along with a sketch that this collection inspired me to draw. :)
NOTE: I used the flash here, so the colours look lighter and brighter than they really are. Tex-y almost looks radioactive here, it does not in real life.

Now this is a neon pink I can wear!
I loved wearing this one, love at first sight, even if it was only on one nail. A squishy jelly finish with only two coats necessary. I just had fun wearing Warhol, brightened up my day every time I caught a glimpse of it.
I can see Warhol being a popular choice for nails in Spring and Summer. Wouldn't it look so cute on your toes with your pretty sandals or jandals?
Once again my poor camera has let me down, Warhol has a little more of a redness to it, more fuchsia looking. It's kind of like OPI's Fuchsia Fling and Zoya's Morgan but with a punch!
AVAILABLE IN STORES EARLY SEPTEMBER

Love at first... swatch.
Morgan is one of my all time favourites, I could wear this one if I was stuck on an abandoned island for six years.
This is just two coats. Morgan has a jelly like complex, you can see my tips vaguely at two and you can build the colour up so tips no more. This is with no topcoat, Morgan really is this shiny alone :D
Why have I left you alone for so long.... *pats Morgan*
Oh, does anyone know what collection Morgan is from?
You also get a few extra pics of her, because I think she deserves them n_n

I am so sorry about the lack of updates! Just trying to move apartment at the moment and it's proving a little difficult.
Anyway, here we have Chanel's lucious Splendeur.
I found Splendeur to be similar to Dragon in how much coverage it gave on the first coat, both out standing! The formula is typical Chanel, buttery smooth all the way.
Two coats pictured here.
I thought Splendeur would be very similar to Chanel's Riviera from the Les Pops collection, turns out Riviera is much lighter and sort of not as squishy looking at Splendeur.
I also have updates photos of Color Clubs Magic Attraction which will be posted soon :D

I am pretty sure almost everyone fell in love at first sight with the promo pictures of these beauties.
The Les Pops collection is now available in New Zealand and retail for $46 each. I got my lot a little early so I can't give you a release date sorry.
Riviera
Riviera
I wasn't really hyped about this one as I am sure I have something close to this shade. Mum fell in love with it though so luckily I was allowed to share it with you :) Two coats here, almost perfect coverage in first coat. Beautiful formula. Not as blue or deep as Splendeur incase you are wondering.
Mistral
Mistral
I only got Mistral and Nouvelle, but I wore this one straight away. It looks so cute in the bottle. But you do lose the glitter a little once you apply it to your nails. Mistral is a very soft, delicate, feminine shade. I like it. three coats here, it's a little more sheer than the other two.
Nouvelle Vague
Nouvelle Vague
My absolute favourite. It just looks so smooth and... frothy? lol I don't know, it reminds me of Goody Goody Gumdrop ice cream. Two coats here. The formula is honestly the best I have ever come across. Ever.
I absolutely love this collection, it's just so... cute and ice creamy. I am really glad I got them, these are limited so don't mess around if you want one or two! :)
