Cult Nails - Baker

Finally a polish that shares my name! Well my last name anyway... Too bad its the color of baby poo. Disappointed yet again.

 Swatch is 2 coats.

 I think it comes across very orange and it just doesn't look good on my skin tone.

 The shimmer is quite nice however.... It's just not a color that works for me.

Cult Nails - Manipulative

I picked this up during the $5 sale because I'm a sucker for this shade. And it looked so fantastic with an added shimmer so I was very excited! When it came in however, I was disappointed. The shimmer doesn't show up at all to the naked eye once on the nail. And let's face it. It's pretty much an exact dupe of China Glaze For Audrey.... :(

 Can you see any shimmer?

 I didn't think so. :(

I can barely distinguish a difference.

I still wanted to wear it, so I added one coat of Pure Ice Heartbreaker for the shimmer I was looking for!

I felt Manipulated all right..... :( Duped again.

Captivated by a Crush

For you ladies that are fans of orange, this one is for you! I wore 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Crushed with 2 coats of Cult Nails Captivated on top. It was so glittery and beautiful and bright! Very fun.

Blogger Challenge - Day 7 - Brand Dedication

I've had so much fun with this challenge, I almost don't want it to end! It was difficult to come up with so many different looks, but I'm really happy with the art I layered over it each day.
For today I wanted to doodle some little bottles of nail polish since we love them so much. These are some of my favorite brands.

Essie - Coat Azure
I love the Essie bottles because they store so neatly and I love the raised name on the side. There is a little old lady that has always called me Elsie because she can't pronounce my name (that's the story behind my e-mail address). So Essie is close enough to Elsie that I like it for that reason too! Lol

OPI - Its All Greek to Me
Who doesn't love OPI?! They deserve the right to be one of the top dogs in the polish world.

Cult Nails - My Kind of Cool Aid
Maria is doing phenomenal things in the polish community and we all appreciate her giving us a glimpse into the process with her blog R3Daily.com. I'm always excited to see what she comes up with.

Sponged Fall

This is a similar color combination with just a few different polishes I used. I actually did this look first. I wanted to match the skirt more exactly, but I don't really like how it turned out.

 This is the skirt in the background. I liked the faded/sponged look to the flowers so I was trying to capture that. I basically just sponged on a bit of the darker color and then added the corresponding glitter color on top.

 I think I ended up not liking that my background was a nude color. I would have preferred some other polish as the background.

Sea Spray Flavored Cool-Aid?

I did another funky french, this time using two colors made for each other. I accidentally found this color combination and they look awesome! Both have a slightly dusty look with a silver shimmer. Cult Nail My Kind of Cool-Aid and China Glaze Sea Spray.

Ombre Skittles

This was the product of experimenting. I wanted to test out how these colors worked together. Trying to find a good blend with different shades of the same color. Then I took it to another level, and another, and should have stopped. Lol. Which one do you like best?

You could totally stop here and it would look great. Do an entire manicure skittled like this, or pick one of the color families to stick with for the whole manicure.

I took it one step further and added thin black outlines with my Kiss Nail Art Striper in black. I really like how this looked. I should have stopped here, that's my favorite.



I then took coordinating rhinestones to line the middle shade. I think it was just one step too far. It might have looked better if I had used smaller rhinestones?

Sew Psyched to be Always Winning

I wanted my nails to coordinate with an olive green shirt dress I would be wearing. So this is what I came up with.

Solid base of Essie Sew Psyched

 Love this color!

Then I added two coats of Cult Nails Always Winning on two accent nails. I really liked the combination of how it turned out, but it took forever to dry! The accent nails were still "dentable" several hours later! :( I even used Seche Vite.... Oh well, it was still gorgeous.

Captivated by Coral

This was my simple mani I was sporting the other day. I used Essie Carousel Coral on all of my nails, then accented with 2 coats of Cult Nails Captivated. This is of course, my left hand. On my right hand I mixed it up by moving the accent nails to my index and pinky.

I love this bright coral color for spring!

(Of course it's already summer here... 98% humidity and 95 degrees! Bleh!)
