Candy Lacquer Beach Party

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, May 26, 2012

Hi lovely readers!!

I am hoping for a pool day today since it's gonna be super hot...can't wait!

I have layering combo to show ya'll today that I really enjoyed wearing. It involves (surprise, surprise) another indie polish from a shop called Candy Lacquer. I fell in love with most of the glitters they have to offer!

So the one I am showing you today is called Beach Party (check out the super cute labels these have!). Beach Party has a mix of brightly colored glitters in square, hex, and bar shapes. I wouldn't call this your typical rainbow glitter though...there is just something different about it.

I layered Beach Party over Dr's Remedy Noble Navy. The formula was fantastic. Just the right amount of glitter to generously cover in one coat. I think the navy color just adds a little something extra to the overall look.

I had a hard time doing this polish justice, so trust that it's got more wow factor in person. :)

Dr.'s Remedy Lively Lilac + Nailventurous Lacquers Rainbow Fish

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Hey readers!!

I have another great polish from Nailventurous Lacquers today. This one is called Rainbow Fish and it's the PERFECT name! Doesn't it remind you of the fish from the book? I think so! I layered it over Dr.'s Remedy Lively Lilac...love it! I think the periwinkle glitters are my fave because you don't see those hardly ever in polish.

What do you guys think about this one? Have you been able to get your hands on any Nailventurous polishes yet?

Matte Blues

Posted by Unknown on Monday, April 2, 2012

Hey there!

Today's post is a quick one. This is sort of a mixed up ombre look. I put Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love on the shades that weren't matte already. L-R: Dr's Remedy Bold Baby Blue, Zoya Phoebe, Color Club Foil Me Once, Orly Frisky, Zoya Breezi.

This mani didn't last long because I'm not used to wearing a matte finish and it was bothering me. haha

Girly Nautical Nail Art

Posted by Unknown on Friday, January 27, 2012

TGIF! Have any fun plans for the weekend?

I feel like it's been FOREVER since I posted nail art...so I am excited for today's mani. Girly skittles manis are probably my favorite to do. I got inspiration for this idea on Pinterest (you can follow me *here*).

I used an assortment of old Bundle Monster plates, our You Mix plates, and a Born Pretty plate for this design. Colors used: Dr.'s Remedy Noble Navy, Orly Au Chanpagne, Orly Luxe, and Color Club Poptastic.

What are your thoughts in skittles manis? Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already! :)

Dr.'s Remedy Jolly and Joy Holiday Collection + Holiday Nail Art

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Hi everyone! It's officially the holiday season. How exciting! Did any of you snag some good deals on Cyber Monday? I know I did!

I am showing you the Dr.'s Remedy Jolly and Joy collection today. All of these were opaque in 2 coats, and the colors are original, but still perfect for the season.

First up is SERENE Silver Glitter. This isn't just any silver glitter though, there is red and blue glitter throughout the formula as well! LOVE this one!

Next is RESOLUTION Red Glitter. This is definitely more of a pink overall, but there is red glitter in this polish as well.

This is REVIVE Ruby Red. This one is very similar to Sally Hansen Insta Dri Ruby Rush. Not the typical holiday red, but still gorgeous and glowing!

And now for the first of the holiday nail art! All designs come from the stamping plates available in the shop tab. How cute is this reindeer?!

This is PASSION Purple, a nice plum shade with some shimmer. I have nothing like this in my collection. So pretty!

And for stamping...snowflakes! Be prepared to see lots of snowflake manis from me because our stamping plates have TONS of different ones!

And finally, ESSENTIAL Emerald. This is another top pick for me because I love green nail polish and have nothing like this one either. This is sort of a jade green with shimmer.

And for the final nail art look, argyle! Reminds me of an elf. haha

What are your thoughts on this collection?

I really like it because the formula is great, and the colors are new and exciting for the holidays!

Dr.'s REMEDY Enriched Nail Polish is available for $17 online at www.remedynails.com

Dr.'s Remedy Fall Fever Swatches + Nail Art

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, November 5, 2011

Hi readers! :)

Today I have Dr.'s Remedy Fall 2011 collection to show you. It consists of 3 cremes. All of these were almost one coaters!

The first is BALANCE Brick. I saw this as more of a dark red than a brick shade, but either way it's a fabulous creme that is super easy to work with!

We added nail art to all of these polishes too. This design is from one of our new stamping plates XL plate I. The design is stamped with Color Club Antiquated.

Next up is Defense Deep Red. This polish is SUPER pigmented! You have to be careful not to get it on your skin while painting because it won't come off without staining. But this is a great shade for fall.

This design comes from XL plate C.

And finally, my favorite of the trio, Noble Navy. I can honestly say this is the only polish I have like this.   It's a perfect navy blue. Love it!

This design comes from XL plate C also.

What do you think of this collection?

You can find this collection at remedynails.com.

Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, September 10, 2011

Hi everyone! I am giving you a quick review of Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover. I was intrigued by the idea of this, and was hoping for a super good concealer type cover up for my face. When I got this product, it said it wasn't recommended for use on the face...so I had to get a little creative (more on that later)!

Here is the applicator. I like this because it eliminates mess and helps give a good finish to the coverup.

And here's the creative part! I gave myself a "tattoo" to cover up! :) So this is before:

And this is after 3 coats of the cover up. This gives a smooth, almost airbrushed effect to the area it is applied. Decent coverage, but not a good shade for me. This product comes in light, meduim, and dark. My only complaint is that this product should come in more shades like a foundation does. Then this would really be a miracle product!

This product retails for $40 and is available online  at remedynails.com or you can call  1-877-323-NAILS.

Hard Candy Breakup

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, August 18, 2011

Hi everyone! I am finally getting around to posting today... I was with my BFF since first grade today. I never get to see her anymore :(. She took some family photos for us and I am so excited to see how they turn out! We also bonded over our mutual love for cosmetics. <3

So today I am showing you Hard Candy Breakup. Besides their matte topcoat, this is my first time using Hard Candy polish. This is a glitter topcoat and it's super pretty! I haven't come across anything like this before, but I think the China Glaze 2011 re-release of Snow Globe is slightly similar.

All the Hard Candy colors come with cute rings that match the shade.

Rather than doing a full mani, I wanted to show what this glitter looks like over different colors. Although, I am wondering if that was pointless because I am not sure how available this shade is anymore.

Regardless- here is the first batch I tried Breakup over. L-R China Glaze 3-D Fantasy, Color Club Pucci-licoius, Wet N Wild Creme Black, and Color Club Get Your Lem-On.

And with Breakup on top:

And since I love glitter with a matte topcoat I slapped some on before taking this off. I used Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love.

And the second set: L-R Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Nopi My Lifesaver, Dr.'s Remedy Bold Baby Blue, Color Club Yum Gum.

With Breakup...LOVE these combos minus the blue...I don't think this looks that great with shimmer.

And again matte- I am so loving the white with matte glitter!

You can find Hard Candy at Walmart for $4. Also be sure to like their Facebook page because they do have the occasional giveaway! So which combo do you ladies like best?

*Hard Candy was sent to me for review in exchange for my honest opinions.

Dr.'s Remedy Hot Hot Hot Summer 2011 Collection Swatches and Review

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, July 31, 2011

Good morning! I hope you are all enjoying a lazy Sunday morning. I know I am!

I am showing you Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish today.  These polishes are big 3 free, contain tea-tree oil, garlic bulb extract, wheat protein and Vitamins C and E. These polishes help promote healthier, and stronger nails.

I know that right off the bat having these benefits aren't a must have for most of us polish addicts and I know the price can be a turn off ($17/bottle),  but I love knowing that there is a healthier, safer alternative for fashion and beauty conscious women whose health requires them to be more careful with what their bodies are exposed to. I was pregnant last year, and I wish I would have known about these polishes then! I was super paranoid about making sure my baby would have the best environment to grow healthy. Even if these things don't apply to you, the benefits of this polish line can't hurt right?

These are all really good quality polishes and the colors are on trend. So let's get to it!

First up is NURTURE Nude Pink. A gorgeous peachy nude with a slight pink shimmer. The shimmer doesn't show up in pictures however. This is 3 coats. I hardly ever wear shades like this, but it is definitely a nice palate cleanser from all the crazy colors I usually wear.

Next is LOVELY Lavender. This is very close to, if not a dupe for Zoya Caitlin which I do not own. I love this color and it's definitely a top pick in this collection for me! This was 2 coats for full coverage.

GLEE Gold is a shimmer packed light golden color. This was the most sheer of the bunch, but still a gorgeous shade. This took 4 coats for full coverage.

This is probably my favorite of the bunch- TRANQUIL Tangarine. I am not sure what is tranquil about this color because it's really bright and juicy looking, but I love it! Probably wasn't that hard to guess since this is the type of stuff I typically wear! :P I have nothing like this in my collection which I was surprised to discover. This is 2 coats.

And finally BOLD Baby Blue. A pretty sky blue shimmer, almost a frost. I do like this color a lot also- I think it's perfect for summer. This is 3 coats.

And here is Glee Gold over all the rest of the shades. I think it works pretty well over most of them and I will be interested to see what other polishes in my collection this looks good on top of.
