Ulta Envy + L.A. Girls Rock Star Crowd Surfing

January 16, 2012

Many of you know that I LOVE franken polishes... And there are two people in particular that inspired me to open my own Etsy shop (hopefully by next weekend)! So I spent the weekend swatching my polishes and taking photos. While I was looking through my photos, I noticed this manicure that is THREE months old. I think it is about time to post it! I guess I never posted it because I didn't like it. But oh well, maybe you will like it.

This is two coats of Ulta Envy with one coat of L.A. Girls Rock Star Crowd Surfing. I want to say that it looks like I put a matte top coat on too, but I can't remember.

Nail Art Inspired By Confessions of a Polishaholic

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, September 28, 2011

I have tons of posts saved of my favorite nail art from fellow bloggers. This manicure was inspired by Confessions of a Polishaholic's Silver Holo Skyscrapers from this summer. I love simple nail art like this, especially when I think it will be a great way to refresh an old manicure. Plus this one is super easy! I don't really love my version but I still love the idea and will probably use it again someday.
I didn't go for a skyscraper look since I used a purple polish, the drop dead gorgeous L.A. Girl Amethyst. I think these pictures show it off even better than my original post since I have a newer camera now. Anyway, I then added uneven stripes of China Glaze OMG. This is super easy and fast! Just make the stripes the width of the brush and vary their length.

Thanks for the idea Orlica & thanks to all of you for reading!

L.A. Girl Flare Burgundy

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, February 8, 2011

My sister Ashley, who got me into nail polish and helped me start this blog, recently sent me lots of her nail of the day photos. So I'll be featuring her nails sometimes this month instead of my own.
Here we have 3 coats of L.A. Girl Flare Burgundy, a super glossy creme with a great formula.

Thanks for reading!

L.A. Girl Flare Dark Purple

Posted by Unknown on Friday, November 20, 2009

Drop dead gorgeous purple. All purple lovers should own this one! Dark purple that never looks black with lots of shimmer that changes color from hot pink to blue. I just couldn't figure this polish out! Is there such a thing as shimmer duochrome? It changed all of the time, lots of staring at my nails with this beauty. One of those lit from within polishes. Very hard to capture in pictures. Formula was nice but I thought the brush was too stiff. 2 coats in the pictures. Thanks again to Kris from Polish or Perish for this one.

A couple of photos showing mostly purple.

Here are a couple of shots of the shimmer looking hot pink.

I could only get the blue to show up in blurry shots for some reason.

This shot seems to show a little of everything blue, purple and hot pink.

Thanks for reading.

Introduction and 4th of July manicures!

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Hello, everybody.
This is Ashley. We wanted to let everybody know a little bit about us and why we started a nail polish blog before we continued with the posts. I'm 21 and work at the Tulsa City-County Library.
I've always enjoyed wearing nail polish and a few months ago I started making my older sister (April) wear it. April never thought she'd wear anything other than conservative colors. Now she wants the craziest nail polish available!
We also wanted to tell you about our new business. We recently started 4BrooksDesign, making beautiful decorative concrete. Check out some of our stuff at www.facebook.com/4BrooksDesign.
Here's a picture of a concrete cakestand!

Here are our 4th of July Manicures.
This is April's. She used OPI Blue My Mind with stripes of China Glaze Raspberry Festival and L.A. Girl's Silver Nail Art Brush.

I used China Glaze For Audrey as a base, and on my striped nails Sally Hansen's Vanilla Bean, China Glaze For Audrey, Ruby Kisses' Caribbean Blue and OPI Red
