Authentic Animal Print

It's been a busy weekend and I don't have anything new on my nails. I'm sporting Nubar Reclaim as mani/pedi right now, and I know I've already shown you that. So instead I thought I would show you some pics from when Kim, Micah, and I went to a safari park that's not far from our house.

This family owns a large property and kept strange pets for the longest. Buffalo, Bison, Camels, etc. Finally they got some investers involved and made it into a drive through guided tour and added more animals. It's been open a little while and this was my first chance to go. It was a lot of fun even considering that we were the only adults there that didn't bring kids as our excuse to go! Lol. You all hop into a old school bus that has had it's windows removed and trimmed out in bamboo, then they drive you through and stop several times and let you feed the animals through the windows.

They have several lovely peacocks, none were willing to show me their full plumage beauty.
That's ok, Kim and I are both scared of birds.

Mainly because ostriches have such bad attitudes. He was particularly hilarious to watch eating out of the cups. He'd stick his entire head in the cup and fling it back out with food in his mouth and flying everywhere. It's like he couldn't bear to take his eyes off of what all was going on.

Very pretty, but I'm glad they were in a cage. Birds move too fast and I always think they're going to fly into my hair or something.

I remember this song from my childhood and it actually originates from Australia.
"Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be!"

This was a big guy! I don't remember what he was specifically.... Bison, maybe? Idk
That's how huge his nose was next to Kim feeding him.

Ever seen a Zorse? Zebra/Horse mix breed? I have!

This two llamas (very "llama-esque", am I right?!) were in the petting zoo portion, they come right up to the fence wanting food. I thought it was so cute that they posed and smiled for the camera. Lol. I shall name them, Ed and Francine.

These were some kind of long horned cow or something. It was funny watching them eat because they would just stick their tongue out to the side wanting you to dump the entire cup in their mouth.

They had a few zebras, but they were in time out. Too aggressive towards the other animals, so we weren't allowed too close. Did you know that a zebra's stripes are like a fingerprint in that no two are alike? And that a newborn zebra is taken away from the herd by it's mother for 3 days, so that she can memorize her baby's stripes and know which one is her's? And even if you shave their hair, the stripes are on their skin? Just a few tidbits of knowledge I picked up from the informative tour guide ;)

I hope this entertained you guys today, I didn't want to leave you hanging. I'll try to have something new ready tonight or tomorrow morning. :)
