Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors - U16

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Good morning all! I did a bunch of swatching over the weekend so I have a lot of great polishes to show you in the next little while.

Today I'm gonna show you an amazing polish that I got from my friend Ruth in Spain. You may remember I posted before about a polish she sent me - Flormar U33, the beautiful blue/purple duochrome - and today I have another Flormar from the same collection! And dare I say it, this one is even better!

Flormar - U16
I saw just one photo of this on another blog, and I fell in love with it and I said, "damn, I wonder if Ruth can find me that..."
Lucky me, she did! Thank you so much, Ruth!
This polish ended up being like 100 times better than the one photo I saw, so I'm pumped about it.

When you're looking at it directly, this is what it looks like. And I thought this was going to be the only look of the polish because the other blog had not mentioned it being a duochrome.

And then I moved my hand.

Whoa. Full on hot pink sparkling duochrome.
I've always wished for a purple-to-pink duochrome and now I've found it!

This is three coats and it still isn't fully opaque in person so I think you'd want to layer this over a purple when wearing it. The shimmer makes it look opaque in most lights but if you're not catching the light right, you can totally see through it.

As I said, at first you think it's just a purple jelly with crazy blue shimmer and then suddenly, it's totally pink and amazing.

I'm pretty sure I gasped when I saw it. Because I'm really cool. And easily amused.

No matter what way you're looking at it, it's beautiful!

I could only capture the two extremes of the color shift but really there are a bunch of different shades between purple and pink that you see in the transition between colors. I tried taking a video on my iPhone to capture it but it didn't want to cooperate. So use your imagination and imagine just how awesome it is to watch this change colors!

That's all I've got for today! I have some more international swap goodies to show in the next couple of days including some Essence stuff, Barry M, and two adorable polishes from Depend.
Don't you hate it when you have so much cool stuff to show and no patience to wait to show it? Haha!

Have a lovely day!

Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors - U33 - swatch and review

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, October 15, 2011

Hi guys!
Some of you may have noticed that I am missing a day every now and then in my blogging schedule - this is because I am super busy lately! I promise I'm not dying off, I'm just too busy to sit down and right a post every day!
Tomorrow I'm going to try to sit down and write up a few posts for next week to help myself out.
So never fear, I'm still around, just sometimes life gets in the way.

Anyway!
Tonight I'm going to show you a beautiful polish that I lusted after for quite some time!

This is Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors U33. I first saw this baby on Emerald Sparkled, and started the hunt for it immediately!

Here are some more bottle pictures...
(The orange and pink flash don't show up on the nail.)

So how did I get my hands on this international goodie?
My friend Ruth from Spain found it for me (after much looking!) Thank you so much Ruth! I'm very lucky to have found such lovely polish friends all around the world to find me things like these.

Now, as I'm sure you know, polishes like this require many photos. And I'm just going to post them mostly back to back because I can't say something witty about that many photos all at once.

This is how it generally looks in the light. Almost black base with bright blue shimmer!
This polish covers perfectly in 2 coats - you don't need to layer it over black.
I probably am including too many pictures but you don't mind, right?

Gorgeous!
Blue, teal, indigo, shades of purple...

The purple flash is sometimes hard to find, but once the light hits it right, it is so intense!
I took these next two photos with my iPhone to try and capture the nail showing teal/blue/purple all at once.

And I have saved the very best photo for last.
Enlarge this one, ladies. Trust me, you need to.

What's the verdict? Are you lusting for this now like I was? (I bet you are.)

german giveaway swatch spam part 3

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, July 16, 2011

Hey everyone! Welcome to the third and final swatch spam from the giveaway I won at From Head To Foot.
It took me a long time to get the third part done because I wanted to swatch the holographic ones on a sunny day!
And we have had terrible weather here in Newfoundland. So terrible. I actually had to wear a coat a few days ago. Cold and rainy and foggy, probably one of the worst June/July's ever.
Today it was supposed to rain, but then the sun came out! And I ran to my holo stash! Haha.

I'll show you the non-holographic ones first.

L.A. Colors - Metallic Purple. This is a really glittery foil polish, pinkish purple, but it's so shimmery that it mostly seems silver.

I don't own anything with this intense foil/shimmer finish! It's pretty cool. One coat.
I did a stamping test:

It works pretty well!

Flormar - 393 is a glitter topcoat.

It consists of mostly silver and red glitter, with a bit of blue and green. It's a strange combo! But I like it.

This is one thick coat of it over Catrice's Dirty Berry (swatch of that to come tomorrow.)
The glitter is sparse so it won't cover on its own, you need to layer it.

Any glitter is good with me.

Etos Effect Nails - 006. Standard streaky yellow creme. This is 3 coats but it needs more as you can see.

Now for the holos!!

I love the bottles, they're so cute.

Etos Effect Nails - 010. Purple holo! The holo isn't very strong, it is sort of linear and sort of scattered. 2 coats.

I love purple. I love holographics. I love purple holographics.

010 is very close in color to OPI - DS Original, but not as holo. (The other bottles pictured are Milani 3D - Hi-Res and China Glaze - Gamer Glam.)

Etos Effect Nails - 011. Normally I don't like orange but this shade of orange is okay with me! This one is a bit weaker than the first in regards to holographic effect.

Same as the first - 2 coats.

Very similar in color to China Glaze - TTYL but as you can see, not nearly as linear.
(I will be swatching my OMG collection polishes as soon as we have a day that is supposed to be sunny all day so I can take my time and do it well!)

Etos Effect Nails - 013. Raspberry holo! Again, 2 coats.

Again, not as strong as the purple one, but still holo.

Here's how it compares to other pink holos.
OPI - DS Signature, Teeez - Smooth, Etos Effect Nails - 013, China Glaze - QT, China Glaze - TMI.
(Swatches of the rest of those coming soon!)
It's close to Smooth and Signature but the CG ones are a bit more on the red side.

Once I get all my OMG's swatched, I'll need to make a holo comparison wheel! Haha.

Thank you once again, Martina! I'm so happy to have had the chance to try all these brands!
