Some Maybelline, China Glaze, Dior, and ORLY Swatches

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, November 7, 2010

So while browsing through my "Nail Polish" folder, I realized I have a few polishes that I've swatched but never posted or did a review on them. And instead of doing each brand one by one, I've decided to just include it all in one post. I have two New Maybelline for the Fall, one old China Glaze, Dior, and two old ORLY's.

Maybelline

Grand in Green is a blackened green which is quite similar to OPI's Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow. Grand in Green is darker than HTAT (in which HTAT shows more green)

Grey-T Glamour is a gray creme with little silver flecks. I really like this one :)

Applications for both of these were good. No complaints

China Glaze

Sunset Glow is a rosey pink mauve with hints of golden shimmer. Gorgeous color but some reason dry time was a little slow

Dior

Black Sequins is a black creme with silver glitter. I got this when it was restocked at Nordstrom, I believe it is not available anymore, but don't quote me :x

Orly

Bailamos is a bright aqua shimmer

Wild Wisteria is a deep purple creme

I've always loved Orly's formulas. Perfect and flawless

Well that's all I have for today, and as a bonus, since this post is so short, November 2nd was my dog Bebe's 10th birthday. And here is a picture of her "making a wish" on her birthday cake :D

Dior Lemon Balm

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Hey guys! To add to my previous Monday Blues, we're supposedly getting rain for the rest of the week. Just my luck?! But I'm not gonna let the rain bring me down.

Well with all that said and done, I have for you my second Dior nail polish.

Lemon Balm - exclusively sold at Nordstrom. It is extremely hard to describe this color. And since picture was taken in artificial light, it's not TRUE to color. But this is an amazing polish. I would say this is a taupey-ish packed with shimmers. I've heard people describe it as a dark brown plum and I'd say it's close to it. I'm getting a headache at trying to explain the color.

My last words are, this polish is extraordinary and I love it. Haha ;)

Dior Silver Purple Holiday 2009

Posted by Unknown on Friday, November 20, 2009

Happy Friday! And no work for me tomorrow woohoo! SO! Today I have for you ladies Dior Silver Purple. This is my first time trying out Dior nail polishes and let me tell you what my smart-arse did. As I was getting ready to put the nail polish, I was trying to open it.. and I couldn't. I used all my force and might and it still didn't budge. So I'm like what the hell?! Getting frustrated, I was about to just give up and paint my nails a different color..

Here's a bad webcam pic of the bottle for you guys.

But wait! Long and behold!

Who would've knew?! *smacks forehead* I didn't know it was like Chanel nail polish bottles. I mean I should've known that since most square bottles are like that. But yes it did take me a good 5 minutes to figure that out... blah haha

Dior Silver Purple - in the sun! This was taken early in the morning at 7 am as I was getting ready to leave for work, hence the orangey-ness. You barely see any purple, but when I asked my boyfriend if he liked this color he's like what is it purple? So I guess there is some hint of purple in there. Shimmery charcoal purple I would call it. Love it. Done in 3 coats. Two did the job though.

And here under fluorescent lights, you can see more of the 'silver'.

Application flawless. I love nail polishes like these that causes no trouble and doesn't make me wanna throw the polish out the window. It wasn't thick or gooey. It was just perfect.

This is out for the holiday collection available at nordstrom.com and sephora.com. However, for $18, it's a wallet killer >_<

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
