Nicole by OPI Four 2012 New Shades

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, May 6, 2012

Happy Sunday!

Today I have more Nicole by OPI polishes to share. There's four additional new shades added to their 2012 collection. And the colors are quite pretty, especially the glitter! Let's have a look.

A Lit-Teal Bit of Love is a metallic blue. 2 coats. I didn't expect this one to have such a metallic like finish! A surprise right there.

A Million Sparkles contains mostly blue round glitters with some gold round glitters and pink bar glitters. This took 3 coats for full coverage. What an interesting combo!

Shoot for the Maroon is a burgundy shimmer. 2 coats. I guess you can call it maroon.

Vio-let's Talk About Red is a fuchsia shimmer with flashes of purple. 2 coats. Very cute name that suits the polish, except this is not really red.

Formula for these were excellent as usual. I never really had complaints about Nicole by OPI polishes formula. They all applied very nicely. My favorite is A Million Sparkles (no surprise there) and A Lit-Teal of Love only because it surprised me with the metallic finish! The other two colors weren't really unique and easily dupeable so I didn't really enjoy them.

What do you guys think of this collection?

(These were sent to me for review)

Nicole by OPI Something About Spring Target Exclusives

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Today I have Nicole by OPI Something About Spring; four additional shades exclusively for Target. I don't have the original shades that launched in March. Take a look at them:

It's Not Me, It's Blue is a periwinkle/purple shimmer. 2 coats.

I Love You Cherry Much is a bright cherry red shimmer. 2 coats

Green Up Your Act is described by OPI as an olive green creme. But it's more of a gray-toned green. This was done in 2 coats.

Sounds Grape To Me is a burgundy shimmer. 2 coats. Super gorgeous.

The formula for these were excellent. However, Nicole by OPI polishes now have new brushes. They're wider, which is good, but I also feel like they're a little short as well. It kind of reminds me of the Sally Hansen brushes. I'm not a big fan of those because I tend to always have problems applying them. Although I didn't have much fuss applying these, they went on smoothly. I love the shimmers in Sounds Grape to Me, and It's Not Me, It's Blue. It's super packed with shimmer. My favorite happens to be It's Not Me, It's Blue.

What do you think of this collection?

Chanel Les Khakis De Chanel Collection

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, November 27, 2010

I finally have the Chanel Les Khakis De Chanel collection polishes to show today. I know I'm a wee bit late on these and that they're already sold out and all that junk. My apologies for that.

I went through some trouble trying to obtain these. The Chanel website was giving me trouble when these were released. I ended up calling up a Nordstrom in Seattle to order them.

A lot of people did not find interests in these, but I have an obsession with colors that are out of the ordinary for nails. When I saw swatches of these, I told myself I must have them, and I do not regret buying them at all.

Khaki Brun

Khaki Rose

Khaki Vert

The formula for these were surprisingly good. It was a little thick but it worked out fine for me. All of them were under two coats, they were fully opaque in one coat, very pigmented. But of course I did two out of habit and to even it out. In my opinion, the colors are unique and there are no dupes I can think of for them. I know there are colors that are close it but not quite the same!

Did you guys ended up getting these as well?

Chanel SoHo Story Strong and Steel

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, November 11, 2010

It's almost Friday!

Today I have two nail polishes from Chanel's SoHo Story collection. Being that I'm from New York, when I heard this about this collection, I was quite excited. I ended up purchasing the SoHo de Chanel highlighting and blush powder and the Quadra eye shadow palette in Stupendous; but I didn't even get to try any of them yet -_-

Cute pouches it came in

SoHo de Chanel Highlighting Powders and Blush - I like the brush it came with :D

The Quadra Eye Shadow Palette in Stupdendous

And now the swatches..

Strong is a a deep burgundy brown. On the bottle it looks more burgundy, but on the nails it looks almost black with hints of brown and burgundy shimmer. Very nice color for the Fall

Steel is a charcoal gray-black with silver micro-shimmer. Here's something very interesting; I was applying this during the night time with a very dim lamp on. As I was painting it I noticed that it was looking a little blue-ish to me. I thought my eyes were playing with me. So I decided to take a picture with flash.

(Please click to enlarge)

See those flecks of blue shimmer?! Cool.. (wait.. or is it just me?)

The formula is decent. It was a little thick, but these are highly pigmented. Seriously, one coat did the job, but I'm never comfortable with one coat, always gotta slab on another coat to smooth out any imperfections.

Though I liked both of these colors, they're not at all unique. For $23, I'm sure you can get a ton of polishes that are alike or similar at least. I *believe* these are still available on the chanel.com website and other department stores that carries Chanel.

Well that's all I have for today!

OPI Holiday Wishes Collection 2009

Posted by Unknown on Monday, January 4, 2010

Happy 2010 my lovelies! Sorry I haven't been around. I've been VERY lazy lately considering work starts again this week. I enjoyed my time off. But it's back to business.

So today I have the OPI Holiday Wishes Collection. I didn't get all of it. Well not many of the reds that is, being that I don't really like red nail polishes =X

But this collection is awesome. Flakies and glitters, oh my!

Let's start with the cremes in this collection shall we? :)

Ginger Bells - an orangey brownish caramelish? creme. Reminds me of gingerbread men! I actually didn't have any last year =_=

All A-Bordeaux the Sled - a dark vampy burgundy creme. Almost black but can see slight reds/browns on certain lights.

Sapphire in the Snow - a dark blue purple creme. Leans more towards the purple than the blue.

And we move on to the glitters<3

Smitten with Mittens - deep red with gold glitters. omgosh<3 ok very similar to China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Color Club's Ruby Slippers. But not a dupe. It's much darker than both. I think this one would come in second for my red glitters. Essie still wins my heart =X

Holiday Glow - a brownish red base packed with gold glitters!! This is great. I love it!

And finally the flakies<3<3<3

Shim-Merry Chic - bronzed golden shimmer with glitters and flakies! Please ignore the dents on my index and middle finger -_-

Merry Midnight - Is THE best polish everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Deep purple with glitters and flakies! I absolutely love this one. OPI did a great job! I can't stop staring at it!

All these were done in three coats for the depth of the colors. There are 5 other 'reds' in this collection in which I had no interest in but I'm sure it looks just as great on you ladies.

That's all I have today. I can't believe how behind I am on things. My "never tried on" stash is getting bigger and bigger. :(

Hope everyone have a lovely Monday<3
