Glitters from the Sephora by OPI Glimmer Wonderland Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, December 12, 2011

Hey all! I know I've been slacking on the updates and everything, but my family from Venezuela just moved here to New York and they don't speak a word of English. I've been running around helping them with errands and getting them settled so I've been quite busy. But anyways, today I have four glitters from the Sephora by OPI Glimmer Wonderland Collection. I decided to get only the glitters because it's the only ones that caught my eyes.

Don't Be Eggnog-ious is a mix of copper glitter and big glitters in a clear base. 3 coats

Be-Claus I Said So is a mix of red glitters with a few big glitters in a clear base. 3 coats.

Sugar Plum Fairies Gone Wild is a lavender glitter and big glitters in a clear base. 3 coats (the name totally makes me laugh)

Good Tidings We Bling! is a mix of red and green glitters with big glitters in a clear base. 3 coats.

Here are they over white, from left to right, Good Tidings We Bling!, Sugar Plum Fairies Gone Wild, Be-Claus I Said So, and Don't Be Eggnog-ious

I love how they look over white, especially Sugar Plum Fairies and Good Tidings We Bling! The formula were good for them. Since they were in a clear base, it was a bit hard to reach opacity for each. Three coats did the job for all of them except for GTWB. I liked all four of them and it was a bit hard to choose a favorite. Overall, these are great glitters for the holidays and also make great stocking stuffers! ;)

What do you guys think of these glitters?

Sephora by OPI Make The First Mauve

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, September 18, 2011

Today I have Sephora by OPI's Make the First Mauve to share with you guys. I found this on their website and I thought it'd be interesting so I decided to order it.

Make the First Mauve is a rosey mauve with light silver shimmer. 3 coats.

It kind of reminds me of their other popular color Call Your Mother, with shimmer.

The formula for this was a bit runny. It was a little hard to work with but I didn't have too much trouble. I do like the color though because it's pretty classy.

That is all I have for today, what do you think of this polish?

Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe Collection 2011

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, June 9, 2011

So I promised a new post today, so a new post you will get! I took off work today.. (will rant about work later) But it's almost 100 degrees here in New York and I'm totally hitting up the beach after this!

So today I have Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe collection to share with you guys. I bought the mini set just as an attempt to save some money, and the other two that was not included in the mini set. Take a look!

A Color that Can't Be Tamed is a semi-metallic green with very dim specks of holo glitter. 3 coats. You can BARELY see the holo glitters unless you look really closely in person.

Wild About Shimmer is a sheer champagne with flecks of gold glitter. 4 coats. This color is absolutely gorgeous. Even though it was sheer, it looked nice after four coats. Still visible nail line but that's OK with me.

The following four is included in the mini set.

I Don't Bite is a dark royal purple with very tiny flecks of holo glitter. 3 coats. Again you don't see the holo glitters unless you put your eye all up in the nail. My picture made it appear more blue than purple. Camera's are tricky.

Yes, Your Lioness is a coral orange shimmer. 3 coats. This one surprised me! I thought it was going to a be a boring bright retina burning orange, but it's not. It leans toward a softer shade of orange with tiny specks. Perfect for summer.

Caught With My Khakis Down is a greyish murky green creme. 2 coats. I think this would be my favorite one! It is unique. And I love murky greens!

Don't Feed the Hand Models is a pink beige creme. 3 coats. In my picture it appears to be just a plain nude beige, but it's not, there's some pink hues in it which makes it kinda cute?

The formula for these were decent. They're a bit sheer which did require 3 coats for full coverage, except for Caught with my Khaki's Down. The formula was perfect in every way. I have no complaints. Colors were good, I just wish the ones with the holo glitter would actually show up on the nails and be visible to the naked eye.

These are available at Sephora stores and Sephora.com. Regular sized bottles retail for $9.50 and the mini set retails for $18.

That is all I have for today, time to beach it up!

Sephora by OPI Glee Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, March 14, 2011

Today I have the Sephora by OPI Glee collection to share. I bought the mini set and the other four polishes that were not included in the set. I didn't become a 'Gleek' until recently. I only saw one episode of it when it first aired but never got the time to watch it, but I've been catching up and I'm in love with that show. They're all so very talented.

But anyways take a look!

Diva-in-Training is a very bright poppy pink creme. 2 coats

Who Let the Dorks Out? is a teal/turquoise shimmer. 3 coats

Hell to the No is a purple base with golden hints of shimmer. 2 coats. I think this is my favorite one.

Mash-Up is a shimmer gray with slight pink, purple, green duochrome. It was very hard for me to capture the duochrome in pictures. Of the many pictures I've taken, none showed up :( This is 2 coats

And now the mini collection:

Miss Bossy Pants is a raspberry pearl finish. 2 coats

Slushied is a medium turquoise blue creme. 2 coats. Very opaque

Celibacy Club is a holo glitter clear base. This is 4 coats, it is suppose to be a top coat. This was an exclusive for the mini set.

Gleek Out is a lime green shimmer. 3 coats

Sue vs. Shue is a navy blue shimmer. 2 coats. This was another exclusive color for the set.

Express Yourself to Yourself is a coral pink shimmer. 3 coats. And another exclusive color to the set.

I love this collection. Majority of the colors are unique in its own way, you only see a few polishes that you may have seen before. My favorites happens to be Hell to the No and Slushied. I'm planning to buy the bigger bottle of Slushied.

This collection is available at sephora.com and Sephora stores. The original size bottles retail for $9.50. It's 50 cents more than the regular Sephora polishes, probably because they are limited editions? I don't know. The mini set retails at $24.00.

So what do you think of this collection? Yay or Nay?

Sephora by OPI Urban Ballerina Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, February 28, 2011

Today I have Sephora by OPI's newest collection called Urban Ballerina. I was a little indecisive on whether to buy the whole collection or not, but since I'm loving all these spring collections, I thought this one wouldn't disappoint. Take a look at the swatches.

Break a Leg-Warmer is a charcoal gray creme. Very opaque under one coat, but this was under two coats

Who's Spinning Tonight? is a purple creme with subtle shimmers. 2 coats

Shiny Dancer is a dark charcoal gray shimmer with a semi metallic finish. 2 coats

Let's PliƩ is a light beige creme with subtle silver shimmers. 3 coats. It was streaky with the first coat but after the 2nd coat it evened out

Leotard-Optional is a mocha beige creme. Which really reminds me of a mocha drink. 3 coats

The Way Tutu His Heart is a very light pink almost white out pink. 3 coats. Also streaky with 1st coat but started to even out. I like how this one looks white with a hint of pink on it.

Overall, I liked the whole collection. Not all the colors are unique, but majority of them are. Leotard-Optional might have a few similar polishes and Shiny Dancer as well. But I can't think of any like or dupes for the other ones. The formula for these were great. They're available at sephora.com for $9 each. Prices are a bit high in my opinion, but you get what you paid. These are better formula than most $23 bottle nail polishes =X

Well that's all I have for today!

Hello Kitty Beauty Nail Polish by Sephora

Posted by Unknown on Friday, December 31, 2010

Sephora had a two day private event for VIB's to shop a sneak peek of the new Hello Kitty Beauty with a full line of cosmetics and accessories. The collection launches in mid-January. Sign up here for an e-mail notification once the collection is launched.

I have the eight nail polishes to show you today. Well, seven because one of them turns out to be a clear top coat or some sort. The nail polishes costs $10 per bottle and their size is 9ml.

First off, I only bought these simply for the bottles because it is absolutely adorable. All of these colors are not unique because I've seen them around. Purple Sprinkles might be the only unique one.

Banana Cream is a pastel yellow creme 3 coats

Blueberry is a pastel blue creme 2 coats

Minty is a pastel mint green creme. 2 coats. Could've used a third

Bubble Gum is a pastel pink creme. 2 coats

Frosted Cupcake is a sheer pink frost. 3 coats

Purple Sprinkles is a sheer purple base with tons of sparkly glitter. 2 coats

Pink Sprinkles over bubble gum, minty, blueberry, and banana cream. It is a clear base coat with holo glitter

The formula for these were pretty good. I was surprise Banana Cream wasn't streaky at all. Three coats did the job. If you don't have any pastels or if you're a true Hello Kitty fanatic like I am, I would purchase these just for the bottle.

Here's what I bought from the rest of the collection..

Nail Art Stickers

Apple Balm
Blotting Papers
Compact Mirror
Sweet Gloss in Pink Bow

Roller Ball Perfume

5 piece Brush Set

Well that's all I have for today, gotta get ready for 2011 :) Wishing you all a happy and safe new year!!

Sephora by OPI Summer Collections

Posted by Unknown on Monday, September 27, 2010

Today I have swatches from Sephora by OPI. I think they're all from their Summer collections but I can't quite recall. But anyways, here they are:

Below: Going Nude, eh? is a nude beige with subtle shimmer. This is my favorite. I love nudes now and I love how this one looks against my skin tone. The shimmer is not visible, but if you look uber close you'll see it.

Below: Havana Dreams is a baby blue creme. 3 coats. I had application trouble with this one. It kept going streaky and after a thick 3rd coat it seem ok.

Below: Midnight Mambo is a blue base with tons of glitters. It looks quite bumpy, that's because it is. I applied two coats of China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat and it seem to smooth it out a tad. It's a nice color, and surprisingly easy to remove!

Below: Read My Palm is a jade green creme. A little disappointed at this one because I was expecting a more minty green. This leans more towards the blue/aqua side. So I wasn't too excited when I saw this one.

So that is all I have for today!

Set the Mood - a pink/mauve shimmer in between metallic and frost. 3 coats.

Run With It - light gray with itty bitty red shimmers. Greatttttttttttt color :D done in 3 coats

Leaf Him at the Altar - a metallic-ish frost-ish leafy green. (yea great color description -_-) But this is my favorite thus far. This is from the Spring Modern Flowers collection, it was the only one I purchased. This was 3 coats.

Absinthe Makes the Heart - a gray green packed with microglitters. My picture is disgusting sorry. I couldn't get a good picture of it, got frustrated and stuck with this one. hehehe.. anyways this is my second favorite. I don't see this on the sephora website anymore though..

212-Sephora - black with iridescent gold and copper glitter. A few flakies can be seen also :) done in three coats. I also bought this because of the name. Yay for NY!

All of the applications were great. No problems for me at all. I have a habit of doing three coats when some only needs two -_-

So that is all I have for you guys today. Enjoy!
