Essie Wedding Collection 2011

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, August 17, 2011

I am sticking my goal to having a post every day for this whole week, and so far I'm doing good. I'm tired of having all these backed up photos waiting to be posted. And then I get so far behind that I post summer swatches when Fall comes. That happened to me last year and I refuse to do that again!

So anyways, today I have the Essie Wedding collection to share. It consists of four polishes, 2 sheers, and 2 cremes.

First Dance is a gorgeous red creme. 2 coats

Better Together is a sheer light pink creme. 3 coats

Made to Honor is a sheer nude-ish pink jelly. 3 coats

Borrowed & Blue is a very light baby blue creme. 3 coats

I'm not a huge fan of red polishes, but it has slowly grown on me. As for First Dance, I actually really like the way it looks on my skin tone. I can't really choose a favorite because I really like Borrowed & Blue as well. So I feel it's a tie between them. As for the sheers, I don't really have a problem with them. I just feel they're a little too plain for my taste. But since I got a new job now, and for this job, it is very important on the way we present ourselves, therefore I can't really do all these crazy colors anymore. But it's OK, I'll wear the crazy colors on my days off :)

The formula for these were great. They didn't give any streaking problems at all. Applied very evenly with no fuss. That's what I like about Essie polishes. They never tend to be streaky at all. I tend to buy all Essie collections, even when I don't like the color that much. I think I should stop on that, being that I am on a budget -_-

Well that's all I have for today!

Some New Sally Hansens

Posted by Unknown on Monday, August 15, 2011

Good morning! Today is all about Sally Hansen. I got these about a month or two ago but never got to try them. I got four from the Complete Salon Manicure, and one from Hard As Nails. Let's have a look!

Camelia is a sheer pink jelly. 4 coats. As you can see it is quite sheer, being that I applied four coats and there's still visible nail lines.

Barracuda is a pastel baby blue creme. 2 coats. Funny story about this one. I looked all over for this one but every drug store I went to seems to ran out of it. My friend went on vacation to Florida, and went into a Walgreens for some products and she found it for me. So this bottle came all the way from Florida to New York!

Strike a Pose is a sheer pearl iridescent shimmer with flashes of blue. 3 coats. I didn't get to experiment with this one yet, but I have a feeling it will look gorgeous for layering.

Eel Skin is a light gray creme. 2 coats

Ice Queen over Eel Skin. Ice Queen is a clear base with silver glitter and blue and pink hex glitters. I did one coat over Eel Skin. Maybe it would've looked better over a silver base instead of gray.

The formulas for these were flawless. I didn't have any issues with them at all. They applied evenly and smoothly with no streaks at all. Even though we have seen plenty of pastel baby blue cremes around, I actually really like Barracuda. It stands out.

Did any of you purchase the new Sally Hansens?

OPI Pirates of the Carribbean on Stranger Tides Collection Swatches & Review

Posted by Unknown on Friday, May 20, 2011

In honor of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Stranger Tides debuting today, I have the OPI Pirates of the Carribbean on Stranger Tides Collection to share with you guys tonight. And I have to be honest, I have never watched any of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but fear not because I have all three movies so I can catch up and then watch the fourth movie soon :)

So this collection consists of 6 pastel like cremes and a silver shatter. Let me first say the silver shatter is amazing. In my pictures it might look a little dull because my camera cannot really capture the shimmer in the silver and the contrast between the pastels. First set of photos are the six pastel shades with no top coat. And the second set of pictures are with silver shatter over them.

Planks A Lot is a medium lavender creme. 3 coats

Sparrow Me the Drama is a rosey pink creme. 3 coats

Steady As She Rose is a greyed out super light pink creme. 3 coats. Such a unique color!

Skulls & Glossbones is a light grey creme. 3 coats. I do not know why my camera made it appear green-ish. I went through every photo I took of this swatch and it all appeared green-ish. In person, this is really a light grey creme that is a bit close to beige.

Stranger Tides is a greyish green creme. 3 coats. Now this one is correct. It is indeed a green grey, or grey green. This is my favorite one!

Mermaid Tears is a turquoise close to mint green creme. 3 coats. It's not bright enough to be a mint green, but I still think its pretty sexy xD

And here are them with silver shatter over them!

Silver Shatter over Planks A Lot

Silver Shatter over Sparrow Me the Drama

Silver Shatter over Stead As She Rose

Silver Shatter over Skull & Glossbones

Silver Shatter over Stranger Tides

Silver Shatter over Mermaid Tears

Now the formula for these were a excellent. I didn't have any problems with application whatsoever. They weren't fully opaque therefore they all required 3 coats to reach bottle color. I must say I am really in love with the Silver Shatter. It is by far my favorite shatter ever!

What did you guys think of this collection? I really loved it because I love pastels and the silver shatter just made it even more amazing!

Well that's all I have for tonight!

P.S- It's Friday, Friday! Gotta get down on Friday! Oh Rebecca Black, your song is Friday's Anthem..

(These were sent to me for review)

MAC Quite Cute Nail Lacquers

Posted by Unknown on Monday, May 2, 2011

Today I have for you nail lacquers from the MAC Quite Cute collection. I didn't purchase anything else from the collection because I'm trying to save money, and also because there was nothing that really suited me. It didn't really make sense that I purchased three polishes with colors not at all unique and costs $14 right? Yea I agree, but I have a spending problem, especially for nail polishes lol Well take a look at them!

Little Girl Type is a pastel lavender creme. 2 coats

Ice Cream Cake is a pastel pink creme. 2 coats

Mischievous Mint is a mint green creme. 2 coats

Surprisingly the formula were pretty good. I see that MAC has been improving their formulas compared to their infamous Peppermint Patti. It wasn't streaky at all, and it applied evenly after 2 coats. However, these colors are definitely not unique and must haves. I assure there are dupes for these but I am just too lazy to go through my stash for them, so spare me :P

Well that's all I have for today!

P.S. - Today is the LAST day to enter my Spring Cleaning Giveaway. Do not miss out your chance to win over 100 polishes to add to your collection. Click here to enter now!!!

Hello Kitty Beauty Nail Polish by Sephora

Posted by Unknown on Friday, December 31, 2010

Sephora had a two day private event for VIB's to shop a sneak peek of the new Hello Kitty Beauty with a full line of cosmetics and accessories. The collection launches in mid-January. Sign up here for an e-mail notification once the collection is launched.

I have the eight nail polishes to show you today. Well, seven because one of them turns out to be a clear top coat or some sort. The nail polishes costs $10 per bottle and their size is 9ml.

First off, I only bought these simply for the bottles because it is absolutely adorable. All of these colors are not unique because I've seen them around. Purple Sprinkles might be the only unique one.

Banana Cream is a pastel yellow creme 3 coats

Blueberry is a pastel blue creme 2 coats

Minty is a pastel mint green creme. 2 coats. Could've used a third

Bubble Gum is a pastel pink creme. 2 coats

Frosted Cupcake is a sheer pink frost. 3 coats

Purple Sprinkles is a sheer purple base with tons of sparkly glitter. 2 coats

Pink Sprinkles over bubble gum, minty, blueberry, and banana cream. It is a clear base coat with holo glitter

The formula for these were pretty good. I was surprise Banana Cream wasn't streaky at all. Three coats did the job. If you don't have any pastels or if you're a true Hello Kitty fanatic like I am, I would purchase these just for the bottle.

Here's what I bought from the rest of the collection..

Nail Art Stickers

Apple Balm
Blotting Papers
Compact Mirror
Sweet Gloss in Pink Bow

Roller Ball Perfume

5 piece Brush Set

Well that's all I have for today, gotta get ready for 2011 :) Wishing you all a happy and safe new year!!

China Glaze Fight Like a Woman Collection

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, October 30, 2010

October is almost coming to an end, and tomorrow is Halloween. Just want to post my China Glaze Fight Like a Woman Collection, which consists of 3 pinks that raises awareness for Breast Cancer. A portion of the purchases will be donated to the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

I've been MIA lately on twitter and here. Getting my midterms over and done with, I have one more on Monday, but I feel confident on it. Once midterms are over, and when I'm up to date with my online class I'll be back to update more often :)

Empowerment - a vivid baby pink creme. Very cute :)

Encouragement - a pale baby pink with silver flecks

Endurance - a fuchsia with silver flecks

Don't you just love the names for these? I think it's very inspiring. The colors are nice, I especially love Endurance, such a pretty fuchsia. The formulas were excellent, no problems at all. All were under two coats.

And that is all I have for today..

SpaRitual Nail Lacquers

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, September 29, 2010

I've heard about SpaRitual nail polishes awhile back, but I've never tried them myself. This is my first time and I'm definitely loving the quality of it. Although it's a little pricey on my side ($12 a bottle) I guess it's worth it, since we have Chanel polishes for $23 and the formula ain't even all that.

So anyways, I bought five colors which is most from their Spring and Summer 2010 lines. It was the only colors that interested me. But I am eying their Fall 2010 line because there are a bunch of gorgeous colors! Since I've spent so much money on the MAC Venomous Villains collection, I need to watch my spending for a bit for the upcoming months.

So here are the swatches:

Delight is a pale minty green creme with slight jelly finish. It's good to see a pale mint green as I've been seeing a lot of bright mint greens. I kind of like how soft this looks.

Full of Life is a pale baby blue creme. Again this is more soft than other baby blues I've tried.

Optical Illusion is a green shimmer full of silver and green glitter flecks. I love how this one looks. It's gorgeous. I just wish I captured a better picture of it.

Shoot For the Stars is a purple creme. Like a true purple. Purples polishes are my second favorites aside from green polishes. I've been looking for a true purple polish. This one appears darker in person than my picture reveals. I'm still looking for the perfect purple creme, and RBL's Mismas is my closest choice but still doesn't seal the deal for me.

Yes I Can! is a forest green creme. LOVE! After tons of mint greens this summer, I'm loving this dark creme. It is beautiful.

The formulas for these were all great. I didn't have any application issues whatsoever. My favorite has to be Yes I Can! Not because it's green...OK who am I lying, yes it's because it's green, but also because it's beautiful!

And that is all I have for today! Don't forget to enter my ManGlaze 600th followers giveaway, you have a bout 21 days left to enter! You can get to the entry from my sidebar!

More American Apparel Nail Polishes

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, August 28, 2010

Greetings all! I just got back from the Sephora at Times Square for the Book of Shadows Vol III. I had fun there, got samples and everybody was so nice and friendly. Line was around the corner, but it moved by pretty fast. I'm glad I bought it!

So today I have more American Apparel nail polishes. These are the newer ones. I received them from my friend as a birthday gift. She knows my love for nail polishes lol

But anyways here are the swatches.

Le Spirit - lavendar creme. 2 coats. My camera make it looks baby blue. Very typical of my dumb camera. Always capturing purples as blues! Grr!!

Green Malibu - greenish turquoise creme. 2 coats. This one stained the beejeezus out of my nails. You'd think it stained green, no it stained yellow. Like piss yellow. Disgusting. Other than that colors nice.

Butter - soft pastel yellow creme. 2 coats. Love it!

Application was decent. Not thick at all, very opaque. Applied pretty smooth I must say.

So that is all I have for today, school starts for me tomorrow. Yes on Sunday. I have Sunday classes from 3:30 - 6:30. SIGH.....

OPI Shrek Forever After Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, July 12, 2010

Hey guys! I finally got around to the OPI Shrek Forever After collection. I'm slowly catching up but it's extremely hard with so many new nail polishes coming out! I"m trying my best -_-

I loved this collection, although I didn't get to watch Shrek Forever After yet. I guess I'll wait till it comes out in DVD. I loved Shrek 1 and 2, and wasn't as excited for the third one, though I heard great reviews for the last movie.

Fiercely Fiona - yellow green creme. Looks yellow in my picture, however, in certain lights it's more greenish. 3 coats.

Who The Shrek Are You? - an ogre green. Haha well it's hard to describe this green. It's fabulous that's all I know :) 3 coats

What's With the Cattitude? - a pastel blue creme. 3 coats

Ogre-the-Top Blue - bright teal blue creme. 2 coats

Rumple's Wiggin' - lavender creme. 3 coats

Funky Dunkey - dark purple creme. 2 coats

And here's my favorite part of Shrek of all times.

PUSS IN BOOTS!

I love that face xD

The application for these were smooth. Majority only needed 2 coats, only Fiercely Fiona really needed 3 coats for full coverage. The rest were pretty opaque.

That is all for today!
