5 Swatches from China Glaze Metro Collection

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, November 3, 2011

Today I have five swatches to share from China Glaze's Metro Collection. I decided to only buy the five colors that attracted my eyes because the rest was either dupeable or just not pretty to me.

Trendsetter is a olive green with gold shimmers. 2 coats. Ignore the little smudge on my middle finger please!

Westside Warrior is an army green creme. 2 coats. Yes we've seen a lot of this color. But it's still gorgeous to me!

Concrete Catwalk is a dark gray base. 2 coats

Skyscraper is a navy blue base with tons of silver glitter. It has a semi jelly finish, and it took 3 coats to reach opacity.

CG in the City is a clear base mixed with silver and purple glitters. It took 4 coats to reach opacity, but it was worth the time because it is stunning!

I never have issues with China Glaze's formula. They always apply nicely for me with no problems. The five colors I chose are gorgeous too, so I'm glad I got them.

What do you guys think of the Metro collection?

OPI Blue Shatters Swatches & Review

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, May 24, 2011

I took off work today because I was extremely tired and wasn't feeling well. I had a great birthday weekend, and I would like to thank everyone for wishing me a happy birthday :) I turned 24 but I swear I still feel like I'm 16 haha =P

Well today I have OPI Blue Shatters to share with you guys today. Yes more shatters! It has three new shatters, Navy Shatter, Blue Shatter, and Turquoise Shatter. Take a look!

Navy Shatter - this is over Color Club's Twiggie

Blue Shatter over white

Turquoise Shatter over white

I loved all three of them. I wasn't being creative with the colors by just putting them over white. I think I will be playing around with them just to see what colors would look good. The turquoise one didn't shatter as much as the others but it still cracked a lot.

I can't get enough of shatters ^_^

Keeping this post short because I have to head to bed soon, got work tomorrow :( As much as I don't want to go, I'll have to. Sigh!

(These were sent to me for review)

SpaRitual Health, Wealth, & Happiness

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Today I have SpaRitual's Health, Wealth, & Happiness to share. I got this awhile back but never got the chance to try it.

Health, Wealth, & Happiness is a navy blue shimmer duochrome with flashes of purple and pink. This was done in 3 coats

The formula was pretty good. I love the duochrome. It looks absolutely gorgeous in person. It looks very similar to Orly's Royal Velvet. I pass on the Orly Precious collection because the colors didn't really interest me. Gotta save money ya know? :)

Well that's all I have for today!

China Glaze Anchors Away Collection

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Today I finally have the China Glaze's Anchors Away collection swatches and review to share with you guys. I wasn't really excited about this collection, but there were some interesting colors so I decided to buy the whole collection and try it.

Before I go on with the review, I am kind of disappointed that I didn't get to try the Tronica collection, since it is specialty for Sally Beauty. And I don't have a Sally Beauty near me, I don't think it is worth the drive to get the collection, and the fact that eBay users are selling it for about $14 a bottle is kind of ridiculous. Well I've read some reviews on it and that the holos aren't even that great, so I guess I didn't miss much.

OK on with the swatches!

From the Sand to Sand collection:

White Cap - a sheer pearly white with golden and silver shimmer. 4 coats

Pelican Gray is a cool toned gray creme. 2 coats

Sea Spray is a pale blue gray creme. 2 coats

Below Deck - a taupe creme with violet tones. 2 coats

Sunset Sail - a nude peachy creme with light flecks of shimmer. 3 coats

Knotty - dark beige shimmer. 3 coats

From the Knotty Nautical collection:

Life Preserver - pale dark orange creme. 2 coats. It's not as bright in person as my picture shows.

Hey Sailor - a vibrant red creme. 2 coats

Ahoy! - fuchsia pink with glass specks. 2 coats. LOVE!

First Mate - a navy blue creme. 2 coats

Starboard - a green creme. 2 coats. I wore this for St. Patrick's Day.

Lighthouse - a lemon yellow shimmer with glass specks. 3 coats

Overall, this collection was so-so for me. My favorite happens to be Ahoy!, I love the glass specks and how lovely it looks. Runner ups would be White Cap, Lighthouse, Starboard, Below Deck, and Sea Spray. The others were just ehh to me because I have plenty of polishes with similar colors.

China Glaze formula is always excellent in my opinion. It is never runny or thick. It applies smoothly without any problems. I am looking forward to the Island Escape collection. As I've mentioned on Twitter, a lot of Spring collections have disappointed me so I hope all the Summer collections are gonna be awesome.

That's all I have for today!

Sephora by OPI Glee Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, March 14, 2011

Today I have the Sephora by OPI Glee collection to share. I bought the mini set and the other four polishes that were not included in the set. I didn't become a 'Gleek' until recently. I only saw one episode of it when it first aired but never got the time to watch it, but I've been catching up and I'm in love with that show. They're all so very talented.

But anyways take a look!

Diva-in-Training is a very bright poppy pink creme. 2 coats

Who Let the Dorks Out? is a teal/turquoise shimmer. 3 coats

Hell to the No is a purple base with golden hints of shimmer. 2 coats. I think this is my favorite one.

Mash-Up is a shimmer gray with slight pink, purple, green duochrome. It was very hard for me to capture the duochrome in pictures. Of the many pictures I've taken, none showed up :( This is 2 coats

And now the mini collection:

Miss Bossy Pants is a raspberry pearl finish. 2 coats

Slushied is a medium turquoise blue creme. 2 coats. Very opaque

Celibacy Club is a holo glitter clear base. This is 4 coats, it is suppose to be a top coat. This was an exclusive for the mini set.

Gleek Out is a lime green shimmer. 3 coats

Sue vs. Shue is a navy blue shimmer. 2 coats. This was another exclusive color for the set.

Express Yourself to Yourself is a coral pink shimmer. 3 coats. And another exclusive color to the set.

I love this collection. Majority of the colors are unique in its own way, you only see a few polishes that you may have seen before. My favorites happens to be Hell to the No and Slushied. I'm planning to buy the bigger bottle of Slushied.

This collection is available at sephora.com and Sephora stores. The original size bottles retail for $9.50. It's 50 cents more than the regular Sephora polishes, probably because they are limited editions? I don't know. The mini set retails at $24.00.

So what do you think of this collection? Yay or Nay?

Revlon, Sally Hansen, and Misa

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Sigh I know I've been slacking on updating. But it's really hard to update as much or swatch like I used to. Work sucks :(

So today I have four swatches to show:

Below: Sally Hansen nail growth in Gentle Blossom

Gentle blossom is a mint pastel green with silver flecks of shimmer. I was extremely annoyed with this polish. The formula was quite thick and with the brush its hard to work with. I don't know if anyone else had the same problem as I did but it took forever to dry. I let it dry for 10 minutes with seche vite top coat. And then I didn't do anything for half an hour. Then I decided to go out to buy groceries. I put my gloves on, and at the supermarket I took off my gloves and the polishes were smudged all over the place -_-

Below: Revlon Top Speed in Royal Navy

Royal Navy is well a royal navy creme. The whole collection didn't strike me at first. I then started to see many swatches of royal navy and thought I gotta have it. It was the last one at Target so I got lucky :) The formula was a bit tricky. These are "top speed" so they dry quite fast so it was hard to get an even coat. This was under two coats, and I had to work fast before it dries up.

Below: Misa Radiant

Radiant is a pearly aqua mint creme shimmer. Slight duochrome with gold hints. Very pretty.

Below: Misa Embroidered Emerald

Embroidered Emerald is Orly's Galaxy Girl's sister but not twin sister. They both have the same duochrome affect with the brownish plum base and turquoise shimmer.

Well that's all I have for today, I'll try to update as much as possible! Forgive me :)

NARS Vintage Nail Polish Collection

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Just 3 days left until Christmas! Eep! So excited :) I have a few posts set up ready to be posted for the rest of this month. I just have to write a review and that's it. I'm so close with emptying my never tried stash. By January I should be finish with everything hopefully. At least now I am up to date (somewhat) with the newer collections.

Today I have four of the NARS Vintage Collection. I did not buy metal jacket because.. actually I don't even know why I didn't buy it. Probably because it didn't amuse me. Although people are raving about it, maybe I'll try it on at a Sephora store and see if I'll like it or something.

So the most infamous polish NARS Zulu is finally re-released and fulfilled us nail fanatics dream (not quite all of it, but at least its a start) I've been dying for NARS Zulu so I am glad they re-released it, although in comparison to the old one, it's not as jelly or whatsoever. That didn't really bother me. Here's the swatches:

Zulu - blackened green jelly. 3 coats

Midnight Express - dark rich navy blue jelly. 3 coats

Mash - a deep olive shimmer. 2 coats. I was excited about this one too :)

King Kong - a medium brown bronze shimmer. 2 coats. I thought King Kong was dark brown? Donkey Kong is this shade.. lol

So I loved all four of these. Can't pick favorites because that's a toughie. I love the jellies the most because I have an obsession for jelly polishes. Formula was super good. I had no problems. A lot of people complain about some streaks or visible brush strokes for King Kong but I didn't have any problem with that.

Great job NARS!

That's all I have for today!

Don't forget to enter my Revlon Perplex giveaway ending in 4 days! Details at the left sidebar.

Lippmann Collection 'All That Jazz' Color Trio (Nordstrom Exclusive)

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Hey guys, I'm up early because I'm going on a "mini vacation" for four days. So I decided to do a quick update while waiting for my boyfriend. I have the Lippmann Collection All The Jazz from Nordstrom.

This collection was a huge improvement compared to their previous one, in which I even forgot the name (Ruby Red Slippers was in it). Because I loved all three of them!

Here they are:

Razzle Dazzle - raspberry jelly base with raspberry glitters. 2 coats. Sorry for the blurry pic but my camera was running on low battery when I took this. I was too lazy to charge -_-

Lady Sings the Blues - dark navy blue base with silver/blue glitters and hex glitters. 3 coats. I love how the blue hex shows even with the dark base.

Some Enchanted Evening - a clear base with salmon pink glitters and hex. 2 coats. I decided to layer this over white (RBL's Underwear) to give it a more "softer" look. I like how it turned out. :)

And that is all I have for now, gotta run! See ya'll in four days :)

China Glaze Pink Glitters and a little extra

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I am uber behind on my posts and I apologize for that. Second midterms are up and I'm almost done with it (my last one is on Thursday). I'm sneaking in a little time to put up some China Glaze glitters (yes more) and a little extra :) I have three pinks ones from this collection; Bad Kitty, Preppy Pink, and Carnival Lights

Bad Kitty - My picture makes it look more red than pink. But this is a very dark pink jampacked with glitters.

Preppy Pink - A soft baby pink with glitters.

Carnival Lights - A more purple pink glitter. This one have tiny glitters mixed with bigger glitters :) Me likey!

And for my little extra, the Yankees won the 2009 World Series. And I am a Yankees fan. To show my pride for them I did a little nail art. Sorry to the non-sport fans having to see these :D

I used China Glaze Calypso Blue, and to draw the Yankee's logo I used the Sally Hansen Nail art pens.

Used rescue beauty lounge underwear. And for the stripes and logo I did freehand with a thin brush with Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal!

I also have a lot of reading to catch up to for all those other blogs. So, sorry if I haven't commented :(

That's all I have for now. Back to intensive studying! Ciao all!

ZOYA Dare Collection

Posted by Unknown on Friday, August 21, 2009

It's 3:33 AM here and I'm still wide awake. I need to cut down on the coffee... So finally got around with Zoya's Dare Collection. I was looking forward to this because I absolutely love cremes.

Vanessa - This is suppose to be a dark berry creme. However, no matter how many pictures I took, this still turn out red on my camera. It is a lot darker in real life.

Ciara - A red purple creme. Slightly similar to Vanessa but more red than berry.

Demi - One of my favorites. A semi-purple creme.

Pinta - A dark purple creme. My picture looks more black than it does in real life..

Envy - Much to my surprise I was a little disappointed at this one. This is a black green creme. I wonder if it's similar to Nars Zulu. Looks a little like it but of course not the real deal. This makes me almost curious as to how it would look with a matte top coat.. Maybe the green will show more. I will try it!

Ibiza - Shimmering black blue, a very dark blue however not close to black. Plenty of shimmers.

I didn't like the Dare collection as much as I did with the Truth collection. Guess I'm not a daredevil. Har har har, another failed attempt at trying to be funny. lol

And of course, I've ordered from OC nail art recently with some cool new plates for konads, and I also bought a few other old konad plates. I decided to play around with it.

Here's Vanessa with Konad plate m57 China Glaze OMG. I took it in flash to show the holo :)
