Create Your Own Nail Polish with Rescue Beauty Lounge!

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, January 12, 2011

UPDATE: You can see some examples of the template and download the template I have created on the 'Design Your Own Polish Template & Examples Page'. Have fun!

Ji from Rescue Beauty Lounge is giving us the opportunity to have a go at creating a shade for Rescue Beauty Lounge! How exciting is that?!

She doesn't want colours that already exist or dupes from older colours, so make sure your entry is original! :D
She says we can also send in one image portraying our idea, if you need help with that or anything I would be more than happy to help you out.

I have a template uploaded of an empty RBL bottle so you can stick whatever image you want behind it to make it look like a polish. Or if you would like my help (or don't have access to an editing programme) with putting the image there, just send me an email nailjuice@live.com :)

This is so exciting! I can't wait! I am starting on my idea right now :D

The Real Housewives of Tudor Dynasty by Rescue Beauty Lounge

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Today's swatches and review is totally drool-worthy. I have for you Rescue Beauty Lounge's The Real Housewives of Tudor Dynasty!! Four gorgeous shades inspired by the Tudor dynasty

Catherine is a smokey purple with gold, bright blue, fuchsia shimmer.

Anne is a smokey gray olive green with gold and pink shimmers

Jane is a a gray pearl with slight hints of gold and pink shimmer. The shimmers are not as noticeable on your nails than on the bottle. Sorry I didn't get to take a picture of this one in sunlight

Catherine H is a Wedgewood blue hue with pink and gold flecks.

All of these look different in different lighting. Under direct sunlight the flecks and shimmers show up pretty well. But if you're indoors it looks like your typical shimmers; however if you stare at it for awhile you'll notice the gorgeous gold and pink shimmers.

These were very opaque. All were done under two coats and a top coat. I had no problems with the applications, it was very smooth. Well worth $18 (in this case $72 for 4) out of my wallet. I love spending my money on polishes that are worth it.

My favorites would have to be Catherine H and Catherine. I like Anne too but Jane didn't really put much WOW for me.

Well that is all I have for today!

Rescue Beauty Lounge featuring Scrangie goes French :P

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, September 14, 2010

This is a funky french I did using RBL's Scrangie. I love this color like no other!! It is exactly as she described it to be, beetle wings!

Then, like I do alot, I added a matte tip. Well actually it was my hubbys idea. It does look black, but in fact it is OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark.

Rescue Beauty Lounge, MAC, & Chanel

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Greetings all! I am back from my mini vacation. Well I've been back since Saturday, but I went straight back to work, and I took off today for a personal matter. So about my vacation, I went to Lake George. It was good to be away from the city for 4 days. I had a very good and relaxing time. Went water rafting, and drove a boat for the first time :)

So during the trip my finally long nails broke. Three of them, so I was forced to cut them all to make it even. I have a few swatches done prior to the trip, so you will still see my long nails for now.

Today I have Rescue Beauty Lounge's Surf's Up Collection, MAC In The Buff from To The Beach Collection, and Chanel's Paradoxal from their Fall 2010 collection. Decided to put it all in one post rather then have them all scattered hehe

First up:

Rescue Beauty Lounge Surf's Up Collection

Diddy Mow - grayish green with silver flecks. 2 coats

Bangin' - bright red creme. 2 coats. Totally opaque in 1 coat though. I was a little iffy about getting this one because spending $18 on a red creme is just totally blah in my opinion. But I guess it's a nice red creme. I think I will use these on my toes!

360 - grayish blue creme. 2 coats.

It seems like 360 and Diddy Mow have all gray tones to it which is pretty interesting. I love Rescue Beauty Lounge's polishes, but I don't like the price. However, their formula is very close to perfect. I mean some drugstore brand polishes applies like heaven too even with a cheap price, so I can't really argue the term "You get what you pay for" or something along those lines -_- I already pre-ordered the fall collection from RBL "The Real Housewives of Tudor Dynasty" can't wait for those babies to come!

Next up is MAC's In The Buff from To the Beach collection:

In The Buff - beige olive creme. Very hard to describe this color. Nobody I know liked this color, but myself. I thought it was very unique, and strange color. I like it a lot. This was 3 coats.

And finally, the most anticipated Chanel's Paradoxal.

Paradoxal - taupe, purple, gray, brown shimmer. 3 coats. Definitely a chameleon. Changes in all different sorts of lights.

Paradoxal shown with flash to show the purple shimmer.

Gorgeous color. I loved it. Just didn't think it was worth $23. Formula was so-so. Didn't apply perfectly. It's like your typical Chanel polishes which are a little thick. Plus this didn't even last me a day. It started chipping at the end of the day. I guess it's good to have? I really like this color though because it's very unique.

I also ordered OPI's Swiss Collection, Zoya's Wonderful & Wicked collection, China Glaze's Vintage Vixen collection, Misa's What I Like About You collection, and ORLY's Plastix collection. I am gonna have fun swatching all of those xD

Well that is all I have for today, I think I'm going shopping today to enjoy myself even more :)

Rescue Beauty Lounge Purple Haze

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, January 7, 2010

I'm slow on the updating I know T_T I'm trying my best! Today I have for you Rescue Beauty Lounge Purple Haze. Another great polish from RBL.

Webcam pic

My expensive Nikon camera never seems to capture the true colors of purple-ish polishes. HOWEVER, my 15 year old $60 webcam can! What the heck!

I think my webcam pic shows more of its purple than my Nikon. It's not at all blue-ish in person.

I have to run, but I just wanted to do a quick post before I leave! I promise a better post next time!!

Merry Christmas!!

Posted by Unknown on Friday, December 25, 2009

I'm a little late, but not completely. I just got back from my family's Christmas dinner and hanging out with the boo. So I didn't have much time. But! I did have enough time to squeeze in a Christmas mani! I did two because I couldn't choose..

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle - This was my x-mas mani last year too. I couldn't help but to do it again this year. I love love love love this SO much! #1 on my nail polish list.

And finally my candy cane mani. I tried so hard to keep it nice and straight but it was hard -_- but hey I like how it turned out! I put a matte top coat over it but didn't get to take a picture of it. It definitely looked better matte. Makes me want a candy cane now o_o

I hope everyone had a safe and a very merry Christmas. Now it's time to count down to a new year!

Love ya!

PS- I wanted to let others know that I am STILL reading their blogs but I haven't commented. I will start the commenting once again. Promise :) I'm still here and still reading! Don't think I've abandoned you guys!

China Glaze Pink Glitters and a little extra

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I am uber behind on my posts and I apologize for that. Second midterms are up and I'm almost done with it (my last one is on Thursday). I'm sneaking in a little time to put up some China Glaze glitters (yes more) and a little extra :) I have three pinks ones from this collection; Bad Kitty, Preppy Pink, and Carnival Lights

Bad Kitty - My picture makes it look more red than pink. But this is a very dark pink jampacked with glitters.

Preppy Pink - A soft baby pink with glitters.

Carnival Lights - A more purple pink glitter. This one have tiny glitters mixed with bigger glitters :) Me likey!

And for my little extra, the Yankees won the 2009 World Series. And I am a Yankees fan. To show my pride for them I did a little nail art. Sorry to the non-sport fans having to see these :D

I used China Glaze Calypso Blue, and to draw the Yankee's logo I used the Sally Hansen Nail art pens.

Used rescue beauty lounge underwear. And for the stripes and logo I did freehand with a thin brush with Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal!

I also have a lot of reading to catch up to for all those other blogs. So, sorry if I haven't commented :(

That's all I have for now. Back to intensive studying! Ciao all!

Happy Halloween!

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, October 31, 2009

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope everyone is out there enjoying themselves. Just going to do a quick post on several Halloween related mani's before I start getting ready to head out to watch the Yankee's game :) I just got home from work, and I am SO happy to be home. On with the nails!

Another one of those "pumpkin nail enamel" that I found at rite- aid. An ashy smokey gray packed with micro multicolored glitters! Flattering but not exciting.

This one was my first try at drawing the ghosts out. Didn't turn out super but I've tried. I was going to draw pumpkin like faces on the orange but I didn't have time. I've used the Orly's Halloween 2009 collection. Black creme = Liquid Vinyl. Orange creme = Orange Punch.

And here shown with Orly GOTH was the mani I stuck with for today's Halloween mani. Black creme packed with micro silver glitters. Reminds me of Dior Black Sequins (which is now rereleased for the holiday 2009 collection avaiable at sephora.com)

OPI Glow-Ink In the Dark - a glow in the dark cornflower blue packed with a few shimmers. (click to see the shimmers) It was quite sheer, this was done in four coats to achieve opacity.

And bam here's the glow!

OPI The Ghostess with the Mostess - a glow in the dark white creme. I used one coat of Rescue Beauty Lounge Underwear as the base and two coats of TGWTM.

And look at the gorgeous glow from this one! This one glows the most! I love it! Very spooky like especially when I went to bed at night and saw 10 nails glowing at me >_>

And then I topped it with China Glaze's Spellbound. A clear base coat mixed with copper, silver, and orange glitters. This one is my favorite of all. I love how it looks :)

And here's the glow with the glitters. Spooky!

I hope everyone have a safe and enjoyable Halloween!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Fall 2009 Blogger Created Collection

Posted by Unknown on Monday, September 28, 2009

Happy Monday everyone. I'm so happy to have this Monday off to catch up on my sleep and all my school work :( But I took the time out to make a post on the Rescue Beauty Lounge Bloggers nail polish. I think this was one heck of a collection because these 3 colors were NEVER seen before (at least to me)

Scrangie - a blue green shimmer with purple base. It looks gorgeous and my picture does no justice for it.

Orbis Non Suffucit - grey greened creme. I don't have any greens like this at all. And knowing me, I have all the possible green nail polishes out there (except for Nars Zulu) and this sure isn't like any other greens I have.

Mismas - purple creme. This is ALMOST ALMOST ALMOST close to the perfect purple creme I've always wanted. But nevertheless it's a cute simple gorgeous shade!

And adding Color Club's Fashion Addcit with Zebra konad, makes it look so amazing. I really like the Zebra designs :)

That's all I have for you today. More coming up!

Skittle nails inspired by Scrangie

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, August 23, 2009

Hi everyone! All these nail polish swatching is keeping me busy. But of course I'm having fun with it. However, while I was going through Scrangie's blog, I was inspired by her skittle nails with konad design. I decided to try it for myself. And I absolutely love it. I received so many compliments on it and people asking me how and where I get it done. They were surprised that I did it myself. Oh the wonders of Konad<3 href="http://www.scrangie.com/2009/08/starting-off-konad-week.html">here

All nail colors are from OPI. Thumb to pinky: Big Apple Red, Brights Power, The IT color, Greenwich Village, and Dating A Royal. Konad plates m74 with black konad special polish.

It is VERY artistic, and I adore it.

Of course I couldn't help but to apply Rescue Beauty Lounge Matte top coat on it. I think this was the only one I didn't like matte. It dulls out the bright colors. My boyfriend liked the non-matte one as well.

Well that is all I have for you today. I've plenty more to go!!

Missing Polishes Collection

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Ha! Two updates in a week! lol I just got back from work and I'm exhausted and pooped out!! But I'm happy to see that my readers are still on my blog even with my lack of update! Thanks guys!

So I'm putting up the swatches I've missed posting on certain collections. Not gonna leave a single one out because they're all beautiful colors!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle - What's with me and gray cremes? I love them as much as I love greens, yellows, and oranges. Concrete Jungle has more of a blue tone to it. And as always, RBL nail polishes are flawless, I can't say that enough!

Orly Mint Mojito - A minty green creme. Mint Mojito is in between green, turquoise, but not quite turquoise, but really minty green. I said that already but this is a cute/gorgeous color!

Orly Country Club Khaki - A light brown/taupe creme. This is a soothing color, very plain but not boring whatsoever. It still stands out.

Essie Flirty Fuschia - Bright bright deep hot pink. So blinding it hurts! Haha. Absolultey gorgeous color. Perfect for summer

BB Couture Poison Ivy - A green creme! One of BB Couture's best selling nail color. Beautiful color, terrible picture. I need to have a set time to take pictures, not when the sun is setting because that makes the color more yellow tone. Eck! I tried!

I can't can't can't can't CAN'T wait for my new hauls to come. I'm getting impatient!!

I use to not like creme nail polishes because I thought they were plain and "boring" but it's starting to grow on me. I still love glitters and shimmers and frost of course!

RBL Square Pants

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, May 27, 2009

"Put Me Somewhere I Don't Wanna Be, Seeing Someplace I Don't Wanna See, Never Wanna See That Place Again"

I think I saved all my really favourite songs for last hehe.

Here is Bikini Bottoms counterpart, Square Pants.

I was also not too keen on it, but looking at the photos now... what was wrong with me?! Maybe i'm just lusting after my nails lol.

I used three coats here. Sqaure Pants doesn't really need a ridgefiller like Bikini Bottom.

I'm pretty impressed with Rescue Beuaty Lounge, but they aren't any better than all my other polishes. I think I also read somewhere that all RBL polishes need to be wearable at two coats to wear the RBL name. Don't quote me on that, but these two certainly don't qualify.

Aaaaaaaaand GO!
